Ick, Argh and Eh

You know that sun-burn I got last Friday? Well, it's starting to peel.

Ick.

Also, there were people chroming on my tram again today. Fucking chromers!

Jeez, if you are going to kill all your brains cells, you could at least have the courtesy to do it away from the goddamn public, alright?

*fumes*

...

*winces*
I really didn't intend for that to be a pun.

Oh, and I don't think I have mentioned it on LJ much, but the lift in my building has been slightly screwed up for the last few weeks. If by "slightly screwed up", I mean "quit working altogether during that really, really hot week."

Which sucks mightily.

And although it is technically working right now, it is making these horrible grinding and shaking noises every time it starts or stops, which is not the most pleasant experience to have in a lift.

And then, they did this...

My lift is a padded cell!

This amuses me greatly. Even if I can't for the life of me work out why.

PS: 'Cos it's all over LJ now: First Impressions Meme. What was your first impression of me?

Do you expect to get any first impressions from RL people that are not simply "Hat"?

[identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com 2006-01-31 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't start wearing that hat until May (or possibly late April). I first met people in February.

Ouch. I got one of those really nasty, peely sunburns once. Not fun at all.

What's chroming?

[identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com 2006-01-31 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
It doesn't hurt or anything, it's just...icky, mostly.

Oh, and:

"'Chroming' is a term that is often used to describe all forms of Volatile Substance Misuse but has traditionally been associated with spraying paint from an aerosol can into a container then breathing fumes from the container." - From here.

That is probably the scariest lift I have ever seen.

Even I would get claustrophobic in that lift! Jeez. Maybe they can put some bars on the door to add more realism. *shudders*

And it's very, very weird to read about people having a sunburn when I'm freezing my ass off. The first time I read one of you "it's so fucking hot" entries I thought, "What? Where do you live?" because it was below zero and snowing and storming. And then I realised, "Oh, right. Australia. They've got summer now." *g*

Yes, we have summer now.

It's hard not to notice it around here.

What I was wondering is how cold does it get in winter (in Australia)? Is there snow? I really don't know. All I ever see of Australia are pictures of the desert and the Sydney opera house and those huge trucks.

[identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com 2006-02-01 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
It depends what area you live in - up in the North, it barely gets cold at all, whereas down south (where I live), it does get rather cold.

Well, sort of. The only places you get snow is up in the mountains, apart from that you pretty much never get snow, so going to see the snow is sort of a big deal.

And I must spam you with Australia pictures, one of these days.
