Yay life!

Even Uni work cannot stop the glee right now.

I got my second Linguistics assignment back today - 44 out of 50. I'm going to see The Living End tomorrow. I have several PMs of Ultimate Squee in my inbox at the OG.

Trust me, I am in a very good mood right now.

Congratulations!
(What was it about?)

And now that you've managed to make me curious enough to try signing up to OG, I find that I can't. Registration is disabled. Argh.

What was what about, the glee or the assignment?

It's disabled, really? I had no idea.

The assignment. Though I would't mind finding out about the glee either, but I think I can guess that one. :-)

Yup, disabled. :-(

It was about phonetics and phonology. The next one, which I am doing now, is on semantics and pragmatics.

All of those terms mean something to me except 'pragmatics'.

What aspects of phonetics and phonology?

A bit of phonetic transcription, and describing the phonemes, comparing the sounds in different words and describing differences and similarities; and identifying allophones.

And stuff like that.

Oh, enjoy! The husband and I saw The Living End up here on Saturday night. They rocked to an unbelievable extent. One of the most amazing live acts I've ever seen. Chris Cheney is my God of Hair Dye

And congrats on the fabulous assignment result. *g*

I've heard only great things about their live performances, so I am looking forward to it muchly.

And I'm happy with the result, too - it's much better than the 23 out of 30 I got for the first assignment.

Pah, who needs an OG inbox? I can fangirl you in here quite well, too *cheers* :)

[identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com 2006-05-18 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Someone wants to fangirl me?

Um, why?

[identity profile] dune-drd.livejournal.com 2006-05-18 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
because I can? Now I know someone who spoke with Rob Shearman ;)

Ah, second-hand glory. *basks*

I chatted a whole bunch to Rob Shearman on and off OG a couple years back, after he found me raving like a loon in my LJ over the brilliance of Scherzo.

It is, indeed, really freaky when the creator of something you've been wibbling over steps in to say "Hey, thanks!" and offers to read your fanfic (although I don't think he ever actually got around to it in this case -- possibly for the best).

My other fannish wig-out moment was when Henry Ian Cusick went egosurfing and found my LJ review of his performance as Jesus in The Gospel of John. He left me a comment and I just about died. And now he's on 24 and Lost and starting to get all famous-like. It's wild.

It is freaky, but in the best possibly way. Truly.

But I've just had this one, online at least. My other claim to fame is having hugged Joss Whedon, which is a whole 'nother story...
