Actually I slapped him for dumping Rose in an unreachable universe rather than killing her. I somehow think there would be less resurection fic than there are rescue Rose fics.
Might write a sequel where I slap him about for Martha. Or rather, for the Doctor for being a total gimp for the first half of the series.
Thing is, I still have an IOU for a plane ticket anywhere, and one of my thoughts on using it was a trip to the UK for a few weeks, possibly going to check out some filming in Cardiff while I was there.
My brain now wants to insert "stalking RTD for impending slappage" into that vague plan.
There was a comment somewhere that said it good in few words. That he doesn't have to shag, he doesn't have to kiss her, he just has to let her know she's great.
Cos I'm hard-pressed to even read them ending up as friends. He was so cold when he left, like he wasn't bothered either way. Maybe it's a reaction to previous excesses but I don't think I could watch another year of the Doctor being so heartless.
The only people I seen positive about the whole mess are people who wanted distance between Doctor and Companion. And, dude, after two years of training us that romantic love is the baseline? That really doesn't work anymore. If it's a choice between overdone shipping and emotional abuse then fuck it I'll take the shipping.
You know what hurts the most? I walked away from the finale not really liking the Doctor... and unlike with the Shakespeare Code and other episodes, I need to wait until at the very earliest Christmas for that to be fixed.
THAT bothers me more than losing Martha as a companion.
I know. I could deal with the emo of DD last year because I knew, even though at the time I was a Ten/Rose shipper, I still could count on the Doctor being the Doctor...and I would love him no matter who his new companion was.
I liked the end of LotTL since it made abundantly clear that the Doctor is, and should always be alien, different from humans. He may get close, but there is always that gulf.
It was quite appropriate that he should show more emotion regarding the Master, than Martha. They simply had more in common, despite the whole psychopath business.
My non-fandom 0.02c, you may now return to your scheduled programming.
I don't mind the more emotional than the Master stuff.
But I am royally pissed that after an entire series of loving Martha, she turns out to get utterly shafted by the program, as yet another sacrifice on the altar of the almighty Mary Sue that was Rose.
And when you consider that Mickey was also treated abominably in order to make Rose look omg so speshul, there are so really, really nasty subtexts to what's going on there racially.

And am infuriated by fandom, but that's another storyno subject
What has fandom done?
Is the bitch please dedicated to me or fandom or both?

Fandom is being an utter bastard about poor Freema.
And it's definitely not to you, but to the fandom bastards.

I can not believe how I went from loving Ten to barely liking him. I do not like the way he treated Martha and I do not like the way he treated Jack.
I want to sit down and have a conversation with RTD.

The only way to fix this will be lots of Martha in the next series, in which the Doctor acknowledges her complete MADE OF AWESOME.

And it... wasn't there.
I've come out of this series liking the Doctor less than when I went in, and that's just wrong.

I can't say that this time around.

But this time... it's just infuriating.

Apparently, its looking like she might be back next year tho so who knows. Big press release tomorrow - so fingers crossed cuz that was rubbish!

Hopefully that means she'll be around second half.
