Moving On
Wow. This is just a weird thing to say, but...well, I have now officially moved out of home.
Wow.
This is just weird.
I mean, yeah, I've spent most of the past two years at boarding school and college, and have only really been home for the holidays, but it was still home, you know? I still lived on a farm out in the middle of freaking nowhere, with my parents and The Sister.
But now... well,
lena_supercat is letting me have her room while she is away, until the start of February. And at some point, whenever we get all the organising done,
altheas and I should have worked out our own sharehouse.
I don't live with my parents anymore. I don't live with my sister anymore. I don't live with my family anymore.
Wow.
It just...it just means everything will be different.
It means I won't have The Sister wandering in, asking to borrow my clothes.
It means I won't have to be in a car for half an hour just to see my friends.
It means I won't run into old school teachers every time I go into town.
It means seeing a movie, or going shopping is no longer a big deal.
It means I won't be dragged to all those boring dinners down in Byaduk.
It means I won't have that tiny little room, with not enough cupboard space, and all my random things over every flat surface.
It means the first time that I won't see the cats again.
It means not being able to go down to the orchard in summer and stealing all the fruit.
It means I won't live with my family any more.
Wow.
This is just so weird, I just can't get over it.

I haven't lived properly with my parents since I was 17. (And, yes, I am old.) I still visit for weekends a few times a year, but it's not home. Although, this may have something to do with the fact that I've never actually lived in my parents' current house.
