So, Steve Irwin is dead. Death by stingray - what a way to go. At least it was doing something he loved.

That said, it disturbs me a little how cheery some people are about his death. Yeah, he was a bit of an idiot and promoted a horrendously cliched image of Australia. But he also did a lot of conservation and all, and had a wife and kids, and for all the manner of his death is amusing, in an ironic sort of way, being happy because he is dead just seems a little heartless.

It's, as I said to someone the other day, less ragey hate, and more mocking hate. Hence, not too nasty. Maybe some other time, I is a bit busy.

Maybe the joy of crack!ships is just that people dont get it. I'd die of joy if someone wrote a Lickey fic, but on the other hand I just wouldnt know what to do other than flail in joy.

Crackships are just plain fun, even if other people think you are crazy for liking. Silliness for the sake of being silly has always appealed to me. And I'm with you on the flailing.
