It just gets worse and worse...

And now we are up to Chapter 9 of the MsScribe epic.

And it has to be one of the most horrific accounts of fandom I have ever come across. Some pooor woman with cancer getting stomped on by a whole bunch of BNFs just because she asked one of them to link her fundraising website. After they had been going on about how fandom supports it's own and all that, too.

I don't think I have ever been so appalled by fandom as a whole. The things that were said...

Entire books could be written on the psychological motivations and effects of this kind of thing. Encyclopedias!

The most depressing part is how some of the people who were involved still can't see how their individual and as-part-of-the-mob actions were wrong.

I remember using Harmonians as an example to remember some theories for Psych last year. Maybe I should try it again with this?

And it's back to that quote, isn't it? A person is smart, people are stupid.

I think the first nine Doctors had the right of it: Humans really are remarkably stupid at times.

But I'd still totally accept a gleeful hug from the Tenth.

And now that it's all over but the shouting, I'll withdraw back into my tiny corner of the internets, where the wank seldom flows. It's quite nice there.

Except that I'm probably going to be looking for some kind of internet psychoses text. All the nastiness and hurt feelings aside, this kind of thing should be studied a lot more than it is.
