Things what I did today

Because I felt like it - and I hate having to dig through my archive to find old posts - I've been tagging my entries. So far I've gotten back to the start of April (which means I have all of S2 Who, at least, so meta can be found) More shall be done next time I am bored.

My current taglist is found here. To my complete and utter lack of surprise, fandom: doctor who is the most used by far. Still, if we go back further, other tags might catch up a little, as I go back to my past fandoms.

In other amusement: the big huge Snape wank managed to hit 5000 comments - 5002 to be precise - and be full. Which is quite impressive, really. it even got an afterparty. The comments are definitely worth a look if you have time - filks liek whoa, the wanker and friends showing, cameo appearance from Snape, Lucius, Voldemort, Harry, JKR...

In RL, I went to II for once, since there was no Astronomy prac today. I played Balderdash, which was lots of fun. I seem to have a talent for selecting cards with hugely cracked out movie synopses. And making up believable stuff.

And a meme, because how could I resist this?

You know fashion inside out but you're far from being its slave. To you fashion is what you decide to wear. You've got great, if unconventional, taste and plenty of courage to put your ideas into practice, which inspires admiration; but few have guts to copycat you. I suppose it doesn't worry you because to you originality counts. You are self-confident, perhaps even arrogant, and consider a day wasted when no one gives you an interested or shocked look. Great job.

I read about the Snape wank over at good old Fandom Wank. I don't know if I have the patience to read all those comments, thouh. Like I asked over on FW, what's wrong with all these people? What is it about the HP fandom that makes so many of its members act so batshit?

Lots of fandoms have crazies. It's just that HP fandom is so large, there are a larger number of HP crazies. And when it groups, they tend to encourage one another.

Good reasoning. :)

Makes me glad for my small fandom. We have none of the trouble that the larger ones do. We do get the odd bit of wank once in a blue moon, but it's such a lovely fandom overall.

The larger a fandom is, the larger the wank will be. Proportionality, and all that. Also, in larger fandoms one can seperate one's self from the greater fandom if they find a group of people who share their opinions. And, in doing so, they tend to feed one another's biases - hence the little groups of wildly crazy people that occasionally show up. To them their ideas seem rational and ordinary.
