Does it amuse anyone else that a whole bunch of people who were going on about this season appeared to have no through thread or character arc now seem to be claiming the whole thing is full of "anvils" for Rose's death.

Then again, most of these people were the ones that were convinced that Rose wasn't leaving CERTAINLY, NO, SHE SAID SHE WAS IN SERIES THREE!

It's just...amusing. And rather ironic.

Though I still stand by my Big Damn Decoy claim. So I suppose the writers are getting what they aimed for, in a sense...

Also, on account of Love & Monsters, I have now gone and downloaded a bunch of ELO songs. They're great! *doesn't know how she should feel about this*

Now, if Rose actually does die by anvil, then I'll be impressed.

From: [identity profile] casirafics.livejournal.com

Something like that. ;)

(and all right. I give in. I'm going to ask, because I feel like a moron about this, and it's got to stop even if I look stupider for asking. ;) Where DID the "rocks fall, everyone dies" joke start, anyway?)

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

I really have no idea - it was just one of those things that just kept coming up on f_w.

all right... good. I feel slightly less dumb.

Anything good in the magazine, then? ;)

And no one believed any previous claims taht it was All About Her Leaving. Woe.

Gossips? GOSSIPS!

From: [identity profile] melata-fic.livejournal.com

Hey, it totally is. But it's full of anvils for everything.

I want her to die, then come back, then leave. Because that would just be fun in awful ways. That, or she just up and leaves after saving the world by herself.

And I figured she'd go by the end of the series. Seemed right, somehow.

Who are ELO? Hmm.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

I am wondering about what happens this finale. It'll be interesting, to say the least. But yes, it does have the time to go vibe about it. "It's time to go...Rose."

ELO = Electric Light Orchestra, aka the band Elton was dancing to in L&M.

Poor Nos. At least you can do the "I was right" dance now.

Gossips? GOSSIPS!

There's a picture of Tennant in those old-fashion 3d glasses. And there's Cybermens with big guns. Um... It's mostly set in Torchwood. Jackie has trip in the TARDIS. There's some mysterious Sphere at Torchwood, that freaks people out. "Like it's forbidden" (Recognise where that quote has been before?) And I think it implies that Torchwood catches the Doctor. And Rose, Jackie and the Doctor all have their lives at stake.

Oh, and Rusty already knows how S3 ends.

*points to comments to Nos about the final two parter*

Oh, and there's a 14 year old girl on about how the Doctor shouldn't kiss anyone who isn't Rose in the letters page.

From: [identity profile] nostalgia-lj.livejournal.com

Oh, the dance... mind, now everyone thinks Rose is gonna die.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

It'll be interesting to see what happens when she doesn't.

There's some mysterious Sphere at Torchwood, that freaks people out.

Suddenly all I can picture is season 1 Alias and the GIANT ORANGE BALL OF DOOM.

...and I shouldn't even have gone there. the last thing the world needs is me writing an Alias/Doctor Who crossover. because it might just involve Will and Ten and Sark for good measure and Marshall going into fits of geeker glee inside the TARDIS and why am I thinking about this again?

From: [identity profile] casirafics.livejournal.com

I just misread your icon (I'm not wearing my glasses) as "taste me, time lord."

I do have the feeling that either would be accurate.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Aye. And I won't be missing out on it either, I believe, since it's just a week before my cousin's engagement party, which is right here in Melbourne (and makes going to my parents before then slightly pointless).

OMG, scan it, scan it HARD.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

I have no scanner.

However, if you ask nicely, I might type up a copy of that letter.

Electric Light Orchestra... My mum loves them, and I think we have a DVD somewhere. I should see if I do know them.

Yeah, Rose has had enough time. I kind of want it to be her decision, though, as anything less will set off the fangirls.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

I'm pretty certain it will be her decision - have been since School Reunion. The second the Doctor said he wouldn't leave her, I knew it'd come down to her leaving him.

Though, no matter what happens, the fangirls will be set off. Especially since some are insisting on the great tragic death scene, followed by floods of angst and tears. Which ain't gonna happen.

From: [identity profile] melata-fic.livejournal.com

The fangirls who want her dead are quite lovely. I tend to think of them as sobbing into a handkerchief and saying the Doctor will never love again.

I want the finale to be here already, but not before Fear Her (as I'm also curious about that ep).

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

They want that tragic romantic death, don't they. If she dies than she never left him, he did it all for her, he will be tormented and full of angst... Um, no. You want Rose to be a well developed character? Than let her develop.

And Fear Her ought to be interesting, even if only to see what Matthew Graham has up his sleeve after Life On Mars.

From: [identity profile] melata-fic.livejournal.com

Yeah, and then Rose will still be the most important companion ever, and she'll break his hearts. They want it to all end in tears if it has to end at all, otherwise... I'm guessing they'll feel the characters will be OOC or something? Or that it'll cheapen Rose's relationship with the Doctor?

I think Rose needs to learn about the Doctor's life, and her own. She has to grow up, to put it more succinctly.

Exactly, Matthew Graham's made me curious. And it'll be good to see Bellino's actress again. *grin*
