Everyone repeat after me: Pointy. Soul. *giggles*

This evening was the birthday type thing for [livejournal.com profile] tinyteddyqueen. Which meant toddling into the city for dinner at the Shanghai Dumpling House again, and then wandering up to [livejournal.com profile] tinyteddyqueen's place for cake and junk food and silly talk and games. And drinks.

I had vodka with guarana. It had a most interesting effect.

I got to play a bit of Munchkin, also, and managed to win. Mwahahah!

But we did have one question that needed resolving...

[Poll #781516]

Some amusing quotes from the night:

[livejournal.com profile] becker_: (About [livejournal.com profile] tinyteddyqueen) "She came at me with oven mitts!"

[livejournal.com profile] becker_: "I worked out how Chuck Norris was conceived. It started when the beautiful Ninjina and the Pirate King came together..."

Callum: "Emos are like try-hard Goths, and Goths are like try-hard people."

Oh, and I now have a Vox. I am not entirely sure why, since I don't intend to give up on my LJ or anything, but it seemed the thing to do. So friend me away, or whatever, over there, and I'll add you in return.

Pointy! Soul! *runs off*

I only answered cowboy to the poll because of the beloved space cowboy. *points to icon*

In the interest of fairness and justice, perhaps 3 weeks after the release of PotC2 was not the best time for above poll. That said...

Pirates Rock

You have to look at the whole Pirate angle from something other than PotC:

Pirated software
Pirated movies
Pirated DVDs
Pirate Radio
Pirated Music

Ancient pirates in the Mediterranean (pirates in tunics!)

The Jolly Roger
Adam Ant

See, Pirates just rock!

i still stand by the fact that they cant really be compared fairly...
pirates are from the sea, ninja from feudal asian lands, cowboys from native american filled lands, robots from space or future and zombies from suburbia... All are masters of their own domain, no one is so much better than the other because they are all by far diffent breeds... any attempt to compare them would be unfair or biased because you would be taking them out of context, either placing them all in the domain of one giving them an unfair advantage or putting them in completely foreign ground at which point none could really demonstrate their full abilities.

Is Munchkin that D&D spoof? I played that once. Was fun. Didn't win tho.

Re: Pirates Rock

They are, indeed, a truly marvellous creation.

Also, they help prevent global warming.
