Firstly: Don't you hate it when you have a nice long update all typed up, and then your computer does something odd and you go and lose it all.
Evil Bitch Machine.
Anyhoo, the randomest random thing in the entire random history of random randomness. Today was my college's Winter Dinner. All was well and good - nice food, guest speaker, people dressed up and all - and then there was the theme.
Christmas in July. Uh...despite the fact that it is, actually, August.
Though the patheticness of the theme was vaguely amusing. There were those cheap crackers with the daft paper hats and terrible jokes, and there was roast turkey (at least for the people who weren't vegetarians), and plum pudding.
Also, we had Tim Costello as our guest speaker. Head-of-World-Vision Tim Costello. he was a good speaker, actually. Quite interesting stories, rather amusing in certain parts and all, even if he did go a little heavy on the whole "Save Lives - Donate to World Vision!" thing. Though that is to be expected, of course.
And we had wine on the tables. Yay for booze!
Hmmm...next Monday, tickets for the Australian tour of the Foo Fighters go on sale. Now, I really love the Foo Fighters - they are my favourite band, I have all their albums, so on and so forth - so I would really, really love to go to the Melbourne show. However, heading to a concert on my lonesome does not sound all that appealing, so I was wondering if anyone else wanted to go with me. the concerts not for months and all, but the Foo Fighters are great live, and it would be great fun.
Though if there is a lack of response around here, I might just ring my friend Gabby from back home, who is also a big Foo Fighters fan, and would most definitely like to come along.
I am attempting to turn my Creative Writing class towards liking fanfic. Hey, it's a tough job, but hopefully I'll get at least one conversion out of it.
I was going to do a meme, but this one involved effort, and after my computer ate my last entry, I really cannot be bothered.
Also, there is a distinct lack of random quotes as of late. Come on, people, be quotable!
