In response, Labor emailed to its mailing list the infamous picture of Mr Downer wearing high-heels and stockings.

I say Y (but then again if I think of politics as fandom and John Howard and Kevin Rudd as two BNF's duking it out then suddenly politics is kind of vaguely manageable).

I love K-Rudd quite a lot. Of course it's a stunt, but it's also going to grab the attention and enthusiasm of young voters in a way that nothing the Liberals have come up with could.

I have a lot of love for him anyway. I emailed him once, in response to a piece he wrote for the SMH, and he replied four hours later, asking me questions and generally responding.

Seriously, this new campaign makes me think of 1972 and It's Time. I'm suddenly downright enthused about the election.

I get paid tomorrow. I am going to buy a Kevin 07 shirt.

My first thought when I read this (after I quit laughing) was that this was such a classic fandom flame war.

The second was wondering if the Downer picture had been macro'd.

I have no thoughts on Rudd on a personal level - except that he's not John Howard, and so is automatically preferable.

Though I will admit that this stuff is amusing me - and yes, he's actually getting how to work this New Media stuff far better than the Liberals.

It's getting a bit John So-esque, actually.
