Good Gods, Troy - Dr. Visser - is cool. I mean, gratuitious sci-fi references while discussing Psychophysics = Teh cool. As well as a never ending supply of other humour. I dunno how much I will learn from him, but I'll sure find it entertaining...

And as an explanation for my intriguing subject heading, I bring you quotes:
While trying to explane difference thresholds
"Do you understand?"
(Generic sounds of disagreement from audience)
(looks down) "I have failed you, Obi-Wan. I'm just going to go join the Sith and go home."
...
Later on in lecture
(Does Vader breathing) "I don't want to become a Dark Jedi!"

This just killed me.I even went up and spoke to him after the lecture about, for which I am sure he is questioning my sanity.

And some more quotes:

Psych lecture
"I don't go out much. I have a baby - that's my excuse. It's not that I'm not cool!"

"As I somehow ended up saying this morning, the slopeyness of the slope..."

(About Delta I in an equation)
"For those of us who are not Greek, it is triangle I."

Programming Lecture
Guy sitting behind me: "What happened to my Prog text book...someone's eaten it!"

Lecturer: "I was getting excited reading an electronics book..."
So very, very, wrong...

Second Floor
[livejournal.com profile] becker_: "I call dibs on his left testicle!"

And for things other than quotes:

The Cafe Preview went quite well - lots of fun, and an almost infinite number of raffle prizes were drawn, even if half were only like laundry detergent or a bag of lollies. Cell Block Tango went of fairly well, however I managed to screw up my hip a bit when doing the splits, so there is slight ow-ness going on right now. The other acts, from what I saw were pretty good, though the sound people seemed to be having problems with the microphones.

Oh, and my Programming projects is done. I didn't do any of the extension questions, and the stuff I did hand in doesn't work entirely well, but it is in. And it doesn't count to our final mark, so what the hell. Now, I am left with that Maths assignment over the weekend. Fun...

At FAS or CHAS or whatever it was today, I got to try out Star Munchkin (like regular Munchkin, but in space). Far too funny for it's own good - I like in more the original, what with all the highly amusing references.
Best Card in the Deck = The "I am your Father" card. *dies*

You can do the splits? Impressive.

The only thing I can do is a cop-out hand stand that's far easier than it looks.

I did ballet for 11 years. I had to learn something from that time.

Did you also learn how bad the concerts/recitals can be?

My sister's ballet concerts are incredibly drawn out - every year you endure the "story" half (which she hates too), and then the other half of random acts, only to be prevented from leaving by the never-ending messages of thanks and personal presentations.

The varied from year to year. Some of them were actually lots of fun, whilst others were a bit blah.

Though we never had the whole thanks/presentation at the end - we just the bows and that was it.

Hi. Because you're someone who I've spoken to in real life more than once, I'm friending your LJ. Hope you don't mind.

Incidentally, when [livejournal.com profile] ephant was explaining who you are a while ago I remembered you as "the one with the hat". How these things come to define us...

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Now I'll have to try and connect the LJ to the actual person...

And yay, my hat has gained a reputation! I feel flattered. I even introduced my mother to the hat today...

Heh, I think friending people's LJs and watching them guess who I am is becoming one of my favourite hobbies.
