Hmm yes, also a good point there. I'd like to know about the origins of Geass, but I certainly wouldn't like it either if they took up more than half an episode to explain that while they could be using the time for more character scenes/development. I haven't seen much fanboy bitching about Geass, thankfully. And I wholeheartedly agree about C.C.'s name. It also adds to her mystique if they keep silent about what it is. It shall forever be a waterdrop! :D
