Yes, yes I am aware my posting has been rather... sporadic, despite being back in Melbourne. But gacking other people's Internet connection does not promate regularity, and neither does fandom explosions.

So, I really can't be bothered doing an in-depth review of HBP, as everything I have to say, I have either said, or has been said (and rather more eloquently) already.

Though I am planning on compiling some interesting HBP links - mostly fanart or fics - sometime soon.

And in other news...

5 ways I'm a dork:

1. I forced my parents into taking me back to Melbourne a week early, which I spent sleeping on couches, almost solely so that I would be in Melbourne when HBP was released.

2. After reading HBP, I spent approximately the next 36 hours doing very little except going online and reading everyone else's opinions, reviews, debates, fanfic ideas, fanfics, fanart, parodies etc.

3. I know the people on my LJ flist better than the people in the rooms next to me at college. And that includes the people on my flist who live overseas, and haven't even friended me back.

4. I spend more money on DVDs and books than I do on anything else. And yes, that does actually include clothing.

5. I invented my very own language, which I to this day have been still known to use on occasion. (Mainly when I am insulting people, or swearing, but still...) Oh, and I occasionally get inspired and do more work on it, so I have a notebook somewhere filled with notes, not only on the language, but the culture behind it.

Bonus! 6. I regularly spend time online rather than go out to parties, or to the pub. *shrugs* Hey, fandom entertains me, whereas parties...don't, usually.

I was tagged by [livejournal.com profile] fa11ing_away, but seeing as everyone on my flist and their dog seems to have done this meme, I won't bother tagging anyone else.

Also, I found this via flists:

You scored as Severus Snape. Well you're a tricky one aren't you? Nobody quite has you figured out and you'd probably prefer it stayed that way. That said you are a formidable force by anyone's reckoning, but there is certainly more to you than a frosty exterior and a bitter temper.

So apparently, as well as being like Darth Vader, I am also like Severus Snape.

Uh-Huh.

You know, in the wake of HBP, I really don't want to know what this is actually saying about me...

LOL! Well, at least you're consistent. I'm gonna gack this! *runs off to take quiz*

So, I am apparentally a traitor, who may or may not actually be working for the greater good (depending on how you see Snapey-dear)

I still find it worrying.

I got Dumbledore.

"Strong and powerful you admirably defend your world and your charges against those who would seek to harm them. However sometimes you can fail to do what you must because you care too much to cause suffering."

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Have you read HBP yet? Because that would just be...well, amusing from my POV.

From: [identity profile] bellmeister.livejournal.com

I got Dumbledore as well with Ron & Lupin & Ginny a close second.
Though perhaps the most telling is that I scored least on Voldemort then Snap then Draco.

Now as bellmeister/dumbledore can I trust drakyndra/snape

I sure have - good book, but the whole thing that you're referring to seems like a big case of reverse psychology...

From: [identity profile] bellmeister.livejournal.com

Well I suppose Dumbledore trusted Snape, what possible harm could come of it

at least tell me you haven't made any unbreakable vows lately

From: [identity profile] bellmeister.livejournal.com

So I guess i won't be getting you to make an unbreakable vow saying you've made no unbreakable vows

I know most people changed their mind from Snarky-Good!Snape to Evil!Snape after reading HBP. I've actually gone the opposite way, this book convinced me there's considerably more redeeming qualities there than I thought. But I digress.

I think it just shows you have interesting layers and are very honest with yourself. :)

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Hey, I'm a bit the same. I never used to like Snape as a character, but after HBP, I think he is fascinating.

And I am undecided about the whole Good/Evil!Snape - because he could go either way and it would still be in character.

And me likes the idea of having "interesting layers." Beats being ordinary.

I think thats a new record, it wasn't until my fifth comment that I managed to confuse someone.

(I won't bother explaining it, as if you have to explain something it ends up with the other person going 'oh', and someone how the person explaining feels like the stupid one, even though they're the not the one who needed it explained to)

I agree. I really think Lily is the key. Either Snape really did feel overwhelming remorse at leading Voldemort to Lily OR that's what he told Dumbledore knowing Dumbles had a belief in the "power of love". LV also knows that "love" is DD's weakness (from his POV) so Snape could give them both the same story, sticking fairly close to the truth but only Snape knows the truth.

Beats being ordinary.
Word.

Yep, he's the ultimate Man of Mystery.

And a personal motto of mine has always been, "I'd rather be weird than ordinary."

BTW, what happened to all your punctuation? Did it get stolen?

From: [identity profile] bellmeister.livejournal.com

I was hoping that you would be too confused too notice.
