So, the funeral appears to be scheduled for this Friday. Which means I shall be once more taking off from the iPartment as of Wednesday, and returning at some time on the weekend. I haven't even finished unpacking yet.

*sigh*

On a travel related note, you hear about the bomb that killed tourists in Cairo? I had lunch in one of those cafes about three weeks ago.

And so that this post isn't all depressing: Heath Ledger got his Oscar, to the surprise of no-one. Which is only kind of depressing.

Y HALO THAR EVERYONE!

I am currently posting from some random Nile riverside Internet cafe in Luxor, since our cruise boat docks here.

Egypt is rather nifty.

And I've taken hundreds of photos, so picspams when I get back will be... interesting.

I wish you were all here with me!

And I must now dash off for the rest of my holiday.

Toodles!

drakyndra: The Music Meister demands you sing! (Bebop: Sunset Ed)
( Jan. 29th, 2009 11:16 am)
So, very shortly, my Mum is due to arrive and I shall be toddling off to the airport, and onwards to land of Pyramids.

This is just a quick post for me to say toodles to all for the next few weeks - I get back here on the 20th February - since I won't be hearing from you guys in a while.

So feel free to drop a line in this post if there's something you want to tell me/want me to know/anything of vital fannish importance occurs. (When I was in Thailand, we found out Rose was coming back to Doctor Who. Who knows what'll pop up this time?)

If you want to know what I'm currently up to, check out what I'm Twittering about. The LJ feed of that seems to be working okay, too...

So... that's that, really. Hear from you all again on the 20th, when I shall start with Egypt stories and picspams and attempting to catch up on everything that's gone down in fandom in my absence.

Ciao!
Melbourne Weather >:(

I know I said a while back that I was looking forward to Egypt because it'd be a cool change compared to here, but there's something seriously wrong about a universe in which this is actually true.

I mean, four 40+ degrees Celsius days in a row? The hottest week in 100 years? DO NOT WANT.

Today was bad enough, and it was only high 30s (and I was inside shopping centers for most of the day).

But yeah, finished last minute shopping for Egypt type things. Important things like comfy sandals. And less important things like a back-up Sudoku book.

Which leaves tomorrow for packing, which ought to be ...interesting.

At least I can sleep in.

Incidentally, why is shopping so tiring? It's not like you're doing anything particularly energetic.
So, I now has a Twitter.

And it actually works when I text it things and everything.

And thus people can bear witness to my exciting and wonderful Egypt trip, via the tweets of the day.

Feel free to let me know if you also have a Twitter, so we can do the friending thing. Or whatever it is called in Twitterland.

That said, um, I may need assistance on getting the Twitter to feed to my LJ. Because that way even people who aren't on twitter can hear about me looking at the Pyramids.
