Yeah, yeah, assignment was completed and handed in on time, but let's get to the important stuff: I saw The Living End play tonight!

[livejournal.com profile] fa11ing_away's friends were a bit late to show, so we missed the first part of of Kisschasy (though we did still get the end of them). We also got to see Gyroscope play, and they weren't half bad, either.

But, of course, what I was really looking forward to was the main show - The Living End.

I managed to push my way forward into the mosh pit, until I ended up at the second from front row. (This took quite a bit of effort, I assure you). So I spent the entire show squished behind this girl with a huge arse. She wasn't very nice at all, actually - she went and elbowed me in the chest for pushing her. We were in a freaking MOSH PIT, lady, of course there was pushing. *rolls eyes*

In any case, as I discovered, I really didn't need personal space at all. Or oxygen. The show was quite brilliant - they played songs from all their albums, from Prisoner of Society to Black Cat and all sorts of stuff in between. And there was fun stuff with people climbing all over the double bass, and that sort of thing.

There was also someone in front of the barrier walking around filming the crowd. Which, seeing as I was right near the front, I managed to get on quite a bit of. There may be some DVD purchasing in the future...

Anyways, the show was great fun, and the encore was brilliant - Wake Up and West End Riot. And some lucky bastard went and got one the drumsticks. So all in all, a good night.

I need to see more live bands...

Oh, I'm not saying her arse has anything to do with her niceness, it's just that was about the only way I had to identify her - it was that, or "girl with a blue t-shirt." And when you are crushed against someone for a long period of time, that sort of thing becomes notable - like the person next to me, who had a phone in their pocket that dug into my hip. I couldn't tell you a single other thing about them.

And the differences is, I didn't push into her on purpose, I was pushed forward, and she just happened to be there. She was in the front row, on the barrier - she had plenty of room for her arms in front of her. And she physically lifted her arm, jammed it back into my chest (she had to manuever her shoulders just to get her elbow behind her), and then went and put it back were it originally was - it was obviously intentional. The girl who was standing next to me's jaw physically dropped when she saw that.
