I won the Shiny Hat, hurrah! Of course, I did get some competition, and ending up sniping someone for it at the very last minute. Mwahaha.

Now I just need to work out payment, since PayPal doesn't like me for some odd reason.

In other news, the Americanos just saw PotW. And so there is much wailing of the loss of Nine. I find it all really very funny, actually.

Of course, this is most likely because when I saw that episode I had no idea there was a regeneration at all, not being involved in fandom then, and so my response had been more along the lines of, "...WHAT?" (Though I was familiar with the concept of regeneration). But I didn't find it at all upsetting or anything, and so all the wailinga nd flailing and all just strikes me as slightly silly.

And I find silly so highly mockable.

Still, it's entertainment.

where is all this wailing going on? I watched the finale, just because it was on, and then I reloaded my communities to see the fan reaction, but saw very little. I guess there's an American Doctor Who community or something?

There is an American comm around somewhere, but I wasn't thinking of it. I was thinking more about the TwoP forums, which I watch mainly because of the pretention and laughable value. And there was something on [livejournal.com profile] time_and_chips, but I think it got deleted.

fan reaction

The noobs always crack me up. I was BROKEN when Four/Baker left. Now I am an old, bitter fangirl, who likes Ten better, anyway.

There is gnashing of teeth in fanville tonight.

Does this make me cool hanging with the Brits and all?

Re: fan reaction

If either [livejournal.com profile] drakyndra or I was British, it'd probably make you cool, but since we're not, it's mostly just sort of silly.

But I love teeth gnashing. I want to see the wailing, hahaha.

And I hope more Nine-fic ensues. Because I love Ten but Nine is my Doctor. XD

Re: fan reaction

Actually, I remembered how I found some more of the wailing - when I'm bored, I tend to do a bit of flist surfing (I pick out someone on my flist, and read though their flist). I was reading the flist of an American sci-fi fan, so their flist also had a lot of American sci-fi fans, including people who had been watching Doctor Who. Hence, wailing.

Re: fan reaction

I am still technically a n00b to this fandom, but I have the bonus of having seen some of the classic series before I actually became a fan, and having come from the crazy that is the Harry Potter fandom, which tends to develop an immunity to a lot of fandom crazy. Or at least teaches you to laugh at it.

And I always hang with the Brits. Possibly just because the whole Australia thing. And the fact that I have British family.
