Weirdness ensues as we approach the end of the school year. As a year 12 with exams approaching, althouhg they are several weeks off, we have the two weeks before them free of class. Which gives me the grand total of 7 days of actual classes left. Which is scary.

In our house room just before, we were putting up the honour roll (though I don't see why it is called an honour roll when it just lists everyone in Year 12 for the year) All shiny gold letters and all. The had done three out of the twenty-two in my year when I left.

Oh, and we finally got our results back from the Westpac Australian Maths Competition. I got a Distinction (top 5% of the state) which is pretty good considering I guessed on like 10 questions.

Oh, and on the topic of academics, I got back my Chem test from Friday. 15 and a half out of 17, so pretty good - I knew I was going to lose one mark, because I didn't actually do that question.

And on to the learning!

I don't like that Maths Comp - don't you lose marks for mistakes?

Only in the last lot of questions. Which I guessed in, and managed to get 5 out of 10 right. Ah, the wonders of completely random guessing...

I guessed 3 on my last test and got them all right.

In a midyear exam, one guy (who was quitting maths) guessed all 15 multiple choice, and only got 1 right.

You know, 1 out of 15 is incredibly unlucky. You should expect to get about a quarter right, if there are three options for each question.

Precisely.

Also, my friend who was at the signing with me, that you apparently talked to, managed to get the Chem teacher to talk for several minutes on Entropy.

Entropy? Thrilling conversation that would have been.

So what did your friend think of me? Charmingly eccentric, or a complete nut-job?

From: [identity profile] aeque.livejournal.com

A midpoint, I think.

Also, he happened to say that he was waiting for me, using my last name. I suppose you didn't notice.

He annoyed me so much today - I mentioned where I was up to in a book, and he completely ruins the ending, but I didn't hear him properly.

He says "Crap, I ruined the ending!". I said it was OK, I didn't hear him.

He then proceded to repeat the spoilers! He then said it was payback for what I did to him when he hadn't read SR - he begged for spoilers, and I just led him off track, by letting him read the Landen marries Daisy bit.

... maybe I've ranted enough.

You know, now THAT is just plain evil. Spoilers are a thing of evil. I mean hints are one thing, but spoiling it like that...

You'll need to go spoil something for him in revenge. Any books he really wants to read/movies he wants to see?

From: [identity profile] aeque.livejournal.com

I'll suggest one, then ruin it. Eventually.

My trickery was a thing of genius - I managed to stop him from reading the "Gran was me" page, and take him straight to the Mutlar bit, right before he got off the tram.
