Have seen Pirates of the Caribbean 3.

All I have to say is: Fuck the Age and Herald Sun reviews, I really enjoyed it, and thought it was a great conclusion to the trilogy.

Also, I can see some highly entertaining wank coming from at least two groups in fandom.

...And now I am going to go die of the awesome get some sleep.

So far I've seen a couple of angry Norrington fans, and at least one depressed Jack/Elizabeth shipper.

I enjoyed the telescope jokes entirely too much. Hell, I just loved having Geoffrey Rush back.

Also, the guy in the Age just doesn't seem to understand teen movies...*sigh* They're obviously not intellectual enough for his liking.

Well, I'm not a huge teen movie person, either - but I am a fan of family action/adventure. And I have to say, POTC is surprisingly dark for a Disney movie. Not to mention the whole ferryman thing is an obvious reference to Greek mythology...

I went to a 5:30 showing, so there were plenty of families, some with very young children. Quite a few of them freaked out at the first scene.

I'm not much for teen romance- but yes, action/adventure...that's another thing entirely.

Made me sad :( Loved the movie, but...I don't know. I couldn't help but think, 'Poor Elizabeth!' Her father's dead, Norrington's dead, Will's stuck on the Dutchman...she lost a lot.

Where can you see the wank? I've been out of fandom for so long I can't think of what people will go nuts over... (although, people do tend to go nuts over anything, so...)

Jack/Elizabeth people, maybe? But, I mean, she may be married to Will, but he's not exactly around, is he?

Animal rights activists over Jack the Monkey being fired from a cannon? That would've hurt (although I'm assuming he's still got his...what's the word...invincibility...um...immortality! That's the one).

It was great, but bring Will back! And also, teach Orlando Bloom more facial expressions.
