So, tonight I saw the OotP movie. Don't really know what to say, actually. Some bits I really liked, some bits really bugged me, some I was annoyed at the changes from the book, and a few times I was impressed at how the book was changed/kept.

But I can't really come up with an overall opinion on the movie, in it's own right. Alas.

It just makes me want to read more Harry Potter, fanfic or otherwise. Luckily, I haven't long to wait.

Speaking of, it appears a whole lot of spoilers are drifting around fandom for Deathly Hallows. I don't care about the validity or not, IF YOU SPOIL ME I WILL EAT YOUR SOUL!

Srsly, I've been going spoiler free so far, and I'm trying terribly hard to resist temptation. Don't make it any harder.

*one more week. Just one more week...*

I am with you on the spoiler-issue. So, taking time off of the Internet as well?

I have decided this because actual spoilers were going around. I was reading for a bit, and not getting majorly spoiled, so didn't mind it - then I stumbled across something that was a bit more major, and decided to back off.

The only thing that's keeping me sane is that the major spoiler is from a source that I am iffy about it's reliability.

Major Spoiler:
They discover Voldy and the Death Eater's biggest weakness. Extreme violence.
The death eaters all get taken out by an ex-marine with a sniper rifle, and Voldy attempts to accost a teenage girl in the street and gets tazered in front of a witch, who quickly calls in the Auror's while Voldy is still unconcious.

Harry falls into depression because someone else got to Voldy first, exacerbated when Ron and Hermione get together and start leaving him on his own to brood. Ginny pulls him out of it by alternately beating him about the head with a bludger and snogging him.
At the end of the book there is a flashforward to ten years in the future where the famous 'trio' are now literally one big happy family and go on to form their own Wizarding school.

The sad part is, there's probably been a fanfic written with that exact plotline.

I like the part where the trio wind up together.

I love the idea of attacking Voldypants with a taser. That's hilarious.

Psst, I hear Harry marries a horse.

I've managed to stay spoiler-free, I think. I mean, I think the spoilers I've read were made up anyway, but I suppose I'll find out in a week and a few hours, eh?

I feel the same way about the movie, but I felt the same way after most of the movies I'd read the books to, so who knows? I thought the fight scene in the room with the arch thingy was cooler than I'd imagined in my head, but the possession scene was lamer and the ending was preachier than the book. And there were little bits that I missed like I really would've like to see Bellatrix shit herself when she finds out the prophecy broke. I think leaving that in would've really added to the scene.

I'm not quite spoiler free, but I'm major spoiler free. Mostly. Depending on whether the last thing I saw before deciding no more spoilers for me was true or not.

Well, now I've seen a piece of chapter art and the chapter titles. Still, I consider myself major spoiler free too.
