Well, I apparently fail at avoiding spoilers.

Sort of, anyway. I refuse to download those scans, because I do actually want to read the book in my hands (besides, the page I saw I could barely read, the quality was so low). But I've been reading vague plot stuff, and excerpts of a few important bits.

And all I shall say now is this:

Holy fucking shit. So what if the shipping was entirely predictable, the plot and back-story stuff is freaking wild.

...Can it be Saturday yet?

I wish. I want to be able to wallow in deep and meaningful discussion of the book.

sigh....

Word. And lolz at random things. And fic! I want fic...

I need to find some good comms to join for discussion (of the positive variety), and fic come Saturday.

I think PJ is trying to revive hp_books on journalfen. We could probably do something with that.

I'll post again once I've read the book, asking for comm links, but that's nice.

I just know I'll be craving fic post-DH, so I don't get burnt out on reading wank.

I've given up looking for spoilers too. Mostly because the spoiler community is just whacked. Just peeked in on it a little while ago, and it was frickin' nuts. I did download a set of scans, but didn't know the password at the time, so I was like "wtf?" and deleted it. I'm not in that big of hurry to read the book that I need to open it scan by scan.

I'll wait until Saturday, thank you very much.

It's completely and utterly insane, and I'm waiting until the media gets ahold.

Because that'd take this wank from epic to something beyond.

From: [identity profile] malaleen.livejournal.com

I'm honestly surprised they haven't reported the leaks. Just wait, tomorrow I'll wake up and it'll all over MSN about the HP book being leaked on the internet.

Cause it's not like that damn community has been careful, as they let anyone join and only about half the damn posts are locked.

I almost want this to hit the media, if only because it'll be the wank equivalent of a WMD. TOSsing at the very least, and possibly even legal action. And the Internet really will collapse.

I WISH IT WAS SATURDAY. MORE PRECISELY I WISH IT WAS 3:35PM ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON SO MY SHIFT IS FINISHED AND I'M ON MY WAY HOME WITH THE BOOK.

I love the epilogue so much, I may not be able to cope with the rest of the book.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

I haven't actual read the epilogue. Just random excerpts, and summaries of what happened.

I had to read the epilogue; I may well die of a heart attack before I get there on Saturday.

It made me happy, except for the lack of resolution for the squid.

*sudden though*

OH MY GOD, WHAT IF SHE KILLS THE GIANT SQUID????

I don't know. I think I'm going to exist in denial for the next few days. Maybe I'll put a request for a non-spoilery yes/no on my LJ.

*flails*

After the last PotC movie, I just don't trust anyone with their squid characters!

Yes, my husband downloaded what is supposedly the entire book... but it's retyped, not a direct scan, and I can't be sure, so I didn't read it. I don't want to spend all week reading it this way and then have to turn around and read it all over again to make sure it's the same! (I don't have a whole lot of reading time and will be depending on my family's indulgence to pull together enough to read this weekend as it is!) So I turned him down.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

I'd be skeptical about retyped versions, since the scans - well, actually photos of the book - only went online a few days ago.

I've seen a couple of pages, and know most of the main points, but am only going to read it in full when I have the actual copy. The photos are bloody hard on the eyes

Everytime I read that stuff is available to read on the internets I wait for lawyers/the press to pick it up, but no one has, it's shocking. (And possible proof that although HP fandom is full of wank it's not full of grassers).

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Oh, it's hit the press now. Like, Time magazine and everything, the stuff you get from googling is amazing.

And the US publishers have gotten a subpoena to go after who put the pictures online.
