...and one of the first things I've done is backread my flist. (Well, as far as skip=980, anyway)

And all I have to say on things is two words:

Oh, fandom!

*beats head on desk*

(Given my flist situation, I've only seen a brief run down of things from news posts, and a brief look in at FW. Do use this post as a place to drop in any more relevant info I need to know. Or you think will entertain me. Especially if it's over at the OG, since what I've seen so far here is terrifying enough.

This is applies to other fandom stuff, or whatever the hell the deal with LJ is right now)

*Note: There will be a proper post about my holiday, with photos and descriptions and all sorts of stuff. Just, not today

Do you want in on that bashing community? I'd send you an invite.

Hella of a week to be gone, though. It was rather crazy

I might as well see what it's all about.

Figures with my luck. I'm still deciding if I'm annoyed or pleased to have missed it all breaking.

Uh, I'm sort of well...check out my latest lj entry to see my thoughts on the issue. But check your community invites.

Some fan history wiki wank with band fandom person here and here and here and here (You have to read the history) which is all part of the same little drama involving a wanker having that documented, threatening to sue for slander, saying the rules do not apply to them and if you blank an article about yourself (even if the rules say blanking is vandalism) that it is not vandalism. That was a bit entertaining. :)

AdultFanFiction.Net also wanted to get in on the act of editing the article to include references to their recent kerfluffle, editing it out and then editing it back in. Some of that is being discussed here. So goofy and no side for me in this... so letting them hash it out while slapping a bias label, my first, on the article.

[livejournal.com profile] fanarchive has plans to create an academic journal which is good for lols! Dude, they keep insisting certain parts of fandom are in their group, even as the other parts say no, keep alienating archivists, are peachy keen with being biased against men because it is okay and saying female dominated is inviting to men... even if they have none involved. Yeah! A month ago, they said they were going to do their alpha or beta testing a month. Nothing out of them from that.

No matter what fandom, there will always be crazy. Always.

It seems to be like a defining feature of fandom.

And crazy in some many unique and interesting ways. Though at this point, unless sex with dolphins some how gets involved, most of it seems to be different people, different sites, same crazy attitudes and actions.

Welcome baaaack. I kinda joined that anti bashing community in the name of [livejournal.com profile] torchwoodcoffee, hope you don't mind?

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

No, that's a great move - especially since I've seen some rather nasty Gwen comments from the Ianto fans. And I say this as someone who doesn't particularly like Gwen.

I have to admit doyle_sb4 had to point me to some bashing comments over on torchwoodcoffee, I tend to overlook the bashing that's hidden in texts searching for fic etc. Thought about implementing misscam's Page A Mod, but haven't found the time yet :/
