Since it seems to be all over the place, I give you the Torchwood S2 trailer. It could use more Martha, since she's in 3 episodes and James Masters is in just one and he's everywhere. Not that I'm too concerned about that *flashes back to Spike fangirling days*

So, when will we start to get iconage from the screencaps?

Still getting weirded out by this more enthusiasm for Torchwood than Who thing, though the spoilers coming in from the Christmas Special press screening are starting to build my enthusiasm.

Though I can't help but be amused by this (spoilery) picture Or rather what I imagine the reaction in certain circles will be.

In other news, I have actually worked out what I am getting the family for Christmas. Haven't actually bought it yet, but still I know what I'm buying and where from.

And it includes none of your suggestions. Fat lot of good you lot were!

;)

I could fanwank and say that Martha/Freema appears so little in the trailer because S3 Who hasn't premiered on BBC America yet and so they're running the trailers based strictly on the BBCA audience. Running on the assumption their audiences didn't watch S3 Who already on Sci Fi or DVD. The thing is, I probably wouldn't be shocked - since S2 has had it's completely run on BBCA - S3 Who premieres sometime soon and probably around TW S2's premiere... which would mean we Murkans (who have BBCA) get double doses of Freema. ;) Also probably means she'll be featured more in future TW trailers once S3 starts. After the BBCA audience gets to know her Who character a little.

I was actually thinking the explanation was a bit simpler: Trailers tend to be top-heavy, with more clips from early episodes than later ones, and most from the first episode. Masters is in the first episode, Martha not until 6 I believe.

Though I have no idea which episode most of the other clips are from, so it's debatable.

Or that. ;) Although I bet I am right about Who S3 starting on BBCA probably sooner rather then later. Freema's eps are probably going to air sometime in February (?) so if Who S3 premieres in January alongside TW S2? That will be at least a few eps of Who prior her appearance in TW. That and I'm just greedy for the Freema on my tv box.

Although I'm vaguely amused - as TW gets better ratings here than Who does (and that S2 trailer certainly looks enticing) - more Americans familiar with TW!Martha than they may be Who!Martha. Hope TW gives her really fantastic things to do.

I have no idea about the BBCA screening, not being American and all, so I shall take your word for it.

And the ratings thing is mildly surreal, I must say. Which reminds me, I shall have to pimp [livejournal.com profile] lifeonmartha on [livejournal.com profile] torch_wood and the Torchwood newsletter once her episodes come along, just to collect all the Torchwood fans.

Probably about to get more surreal too considering the writers strike and so many network shows going into reruns come January. Folks may be looking for some new programming via cable ... and Torchwood will have new shiny eps (apparently much action-packed, guns blazing based on that trailer). New eps with crazy hot sweaty women in tank/vest tops strapped to beds in cruciform. What's not to love??

And when did this happen? I'm giddier for one TW S2 trailer than I am Who or VOTD!! Now if BBCA could just get SJA somehow!

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

That's just weird. I've been relatively untouched by the Strike thus far, what with all my fave shows being British or, you know, already canceled.

And speaking of cruciform, I so need a "Martha Jones: Now officially Jesus" icon. Or something along those lines

I'm also more enthused on the Torchwood trailer, I must say, but I'm not so much sick of Ten (I do love him, I can't help it), I'm just sick of the writers and their inability to get over Rose. Or acknowledge dodgy subtexts.

BBCA will be promoting Torchwood liek whoa anyway since it's their highest rated show, but considering the strike? They'd be mad not to take advantage. Get Torchwood out there for those "Heroes" or CSI or whatever other Murkan action-based series I can't think of and their fans are tired of reruns. Could get a very nice boost due to this strike.

I'd worship her... for the simple fact of not being blue and floating around. And, you know, the crazy hotness.

I think Rose really has become the albatross of Who. Which just makes me all the more thankful for TW and SJA. Whoniverse fixes not maligned by a sad Rose obsession.

Seriously BBCA's highest rated show? That's just freaky. But yes, there could be a nice boost there.

There are very many reasons to worship Martha.

Indeedy.
