You know, I was originally going to post this on Sunday. But I was up too late, and needed sleep. And pretty much the same thing happened yesterday, so you are getting some several day old blogging here.

My apologies.

Anyway, on Sunday night I ended up being sent on a cleaning supplies quest, because we had potential housemates coming over to look at the place (more on that later) on Monday, and come Sunday evening, [livejournal.com profile] fa11ing_away had gotten into a late night cleaning frenzy. And we needed new supplies.

Thus, I ended up wandering around half of Brunswick at about 11, since trams were only every half hour, and our normal supermarket was closed. I even needed to get [livejournal.com profile] fa11ing_away to give me directions over the phone, which ended up feeling like some bizarre scavenger hunt. I ended up at a Safeway I never knew existed on Saxon Street *insert Doctor Who gag here* and then I wandered back to middle of the night cleaning. The spray on carpet cleaner stuff is surprisingly fun to use.

Monday involved visits from potential housemates - or just one, actually. See, as of the end of the month, Chris the Non-Existent becomes... even less existant and a new minion housemate for [livejournal.com profile] fa11ing_away and I was needed. There have apparently been at least four people call up about it; of those, two were supposed to check out the place yesterday, but only one did.

Anyhoo, the girl who did show seemed nice, is rather quiet, and though still pending for the next few days, depending on what other phone calls are received, it's nice that the housemate situation seems to be working itself out.

Then that evening we visited the Alternate Craft Market on Tattersals Lane. I bought a hat and a bat (and a scarf, but that doesn't fit my rhyming scheme). The hat is cute and brown, the bat is a little plushy type badge thing. Which immediately got pinned on my hat for the rest of the night.

And then we had dumplings, and then to Max Brenner's for chocolate, and then to this Asian bar place which was quite cool. I had a Ginger Ninja martini, which I totally ordered just for the name. It was nice though, in a tingly sort of way.

And then I went home and had sleep.

And in news for all those people who don't give a damn about my RL, there are Torchwood spoilers.

The first few minutes of Torchwood Series Two Episode One.

Aaand... the clip which has gotten most people all excited. *now has Song 2 stuck in her head*

Torchwood is actually looking quite good. This really is unnerving.

ETA: A long running rumour about Martha is confirmed. I squee.

It looks like they've gotten over themselves a little this year and are having a little more fun with it. God both those clips are funny.

It's amazing what a willingness to take the piss out of one's self can do for the enjoyment of a show.

I think that was a problem for me with season 1, it was campy when it was meant to be serious...

I do have to say that some self-awareness of the flaws in the show could do it a world of good.

Hah. Just noticed the LJ icon. Hee hee. There's a thought, what if they're related? (heh. I know its pretty common surname, but that would be a funny moment, Martha walking in, Oh, hi Ianto. LTNS!)

Well, it should be weird enough already, what with Ianto being formerly of Torchwood London, and Martha's identical cousin also being from Torchwood London.
