Whoa, Dude, Random!

Weird. For some completely unknown reason, I seem to be saying "Dude" quite frequently at the moment. And I haven't a freaking clue why, or where on earth it came from. 'Tis quite strange.

Also, on randomness:
I got my first text message from sister in absolutely ages the other day. And it said, in it's entirety (and spelled exactly like this):

Hey there, big sis do u know about "the hitchhikers guide 2 the galaxy" movie? I spose u will c it as soon as it cums out. Morbo is hotness

Which brings randomness to a new level. I mean, she contacts me about a movie I've known about for ages (note: my sister knows absolutely nothing about H2G2, despite my best efforts all through the summer holidays). And that's it. At least she knows my interests...
And the "Morbo is hotness" thing - courtesy of some extremely random Futurama conversations that we have had. Though I am still quite disturbed by it...

Oh, and one sign of just how far gone I really am these days:
So, I finish question 2 on my programming assignment (note to self: do more work on said assignmnet), and it is actually working properly.
My reaction: w00t. I actually say w00t out loud. How very, very wrong...
And what is even more disturbing is when I tell the lab supervisor I got the question right, his response is also to say w00t.

Which lead to me having odd thoughts about modern-day seamstresses.

Now must go and do Psych lab report...

Hmmm, a book ragging out JKR. I am intrigued. What sort of stuff does it say about her?

Basically, it says that she's not that great - he says something like "Tolkien was good, Rowling is not - they're incomparable", and seems to imply that she doesn't deserve her great success.

Yeah, but unlike Tolkien, you can can read Rowling and actually have fun at the same time.

Note: I don't hate Tolkien. I just think he is over-rated. Great story, but lousy writing style - it just drags on and on and on...

I know exactly what you mean - I tried reading Return of The King, but it was just so boring...
I only really like The Hobbit, because it's a much simpler story.

That said, Rowling's books aren't my favourites, but I still like to read them.

(In case you were wondering, my favourite book is Yoss, by Odo Hirsch.)

I haven't read The Hobbit in so long, so my memories of it are a bit blah, though as far as I can recall, it was better than the LotR books.

Rowling isn't my favourite either, though she is still up near the top of the list.

And I haven't read Yoss, so I can't comment on it.

Although, I'm still looking through the Robert Jordan ones I downloaded - I'd like to finish reading that series one day.

Now I've listened to it - it's actually a pretty good reading.

Although Walken sounds nothing like what the parodies I've seen have led me to believe.
