Am too tired and neck is too achey to be bothered with a particularly long post right now.

So: One lecture (Research Methods, dull), and a prac that wasn't on this week.

Not much on at Uni. Or in the city for that matter.

Saw this weeks episode of Torchwood, which was... cracktastic, really. I'm not the first to point this out, but it was very much like something from fanfic, and not the serious business sort of fic, either. Very big shift in tone from the last few episodes - which I suppose was about right, since they weren't real cheery.

It seems to have rather split the flist, but I think I enjoyed it, even if I didn't think it was spectacularly good.

Also, I may have the occasional issue with Gwen (more the writing rather than acting, really), but Eve Myles does scrub up nice. And Rhys remains adorable, bless him.

This episode won very considerable love from me by mocking the hell out of RTD's Jesus fixation. If it turns out to be a sign of things to come, I may even end up an actual TW fan, of sorts.

This episode mocked the hell out of everything, really. It was a bit like the first one of S2, in that regard.

Actually, if Chibnall decides to stick to cracktastic cheerful self-mockery, he may redeem himself for a lot of the S1 flaws.

I quite liked the part where they had Gwen and Jack doing that newly-obligatory Gwen/Jack thing that always makes me roll my eyes, and then OMG OHNOES IT'S ACTUALLY THE MONSTER! That made me laugh.

Also, Rhys with a chainsaw. RHYS WITH A CHAINSAW. I need to make an icon of that.

It's a bit of a cliche, isn't it, that shapeshifters always try something on in the romantic sense? It's like gratuitous ship opportunity without emotional consequence.

The chainsaw was quite awesome.
