Say, anyone know what's up with the filming going on at Uni? I was headed in there to do a few vitally important bits and pieces (Return a CD to the Psych office, make some arrangements at the bank, buy a Latte at Castro's Shush, you, Castro's Lattes are a wondrous thing and thus a matter of great importance), and there was half a freaking block of make-up and prop trucks parked along Grattan Street.

I thought it was for that Nicholas Cage whatsit that's in town, but I can't find the article I read that mentioned filming at Uni.

Oh, and in other, and probably more entertaining news, Rick Astley has given his support to Rickrolling.

Teh Intarweb is truly a glorious, glorious place.

Speaking of which, over at Ye Olde Lexicon Wank, SVA and co have requested JKR as a witness for the defense.

To clarify: The People JKR is trying to sue have requested her as a witness for their side.

You cannot make this shit up.

I believe it is for the Nicholas Cage thing. I think there was a post about it on [livejournal.com profile] melbournemaniacs, and we've received fliers at work, warning of road closures and filming in the near future.

BTW, are you planning to go to Supanova? I've found myself sadly without funds (I spent my last $10 on a sonic screwdriver LED torch at Borders BECAUSE I HAVE PRIORITIES, DAMMIT!), so I'll be missing it. I feel compelled to compensate with OldSchool Who and friends, if you're free.

I was planning to go to Supernova, but only if I found someone else to hang out with. It'd be no fun on my own. If you've something planned that weekend, I'd totally be willing to tag along, though.

I don't have any particular plans, but I'll let you know if anything arises.

A little advance warning would be good, but certainly let me know.

I think I read somewhere that it was the new Alex Proyas film, but I'm not sure. I was at Uni today but didn't see anything, mostly because I was too annoyed at the ERC's fluid relationship with the concept of being open. Grr!

Having now done a bit more of research, that sounds about right. It was around the Med building, corner of Grattan and Royal Parade.

What were you after in the ERC? Rowden White was open, but it closed early.

I needed to return things and to borrow an obscure Chinese socialist realist film for one of my cinema studies essays, but the library didn't open until 12, and it was only 11 and I couldn't be bothered waiting around and finding another park, for I am very lazy. But still, *kicks new 'Learning Hub*. Stupid Melbourne Model. I do find it funny how much Melbourne Model bashing is going on in my subjects though, by the lecturers and the tutors. Though it is the Arts Faculty...

Sorry to disappoint, but SVA calling JKR as a witness isn't particularly unusual. Fun to talk about and be amused by, but defiantly nothing out of the ordinary.
