Your hilarity for the day: Batman and Iron Man part 3. Stay for the very end, I think that's the funniest bit.

And in fannish news apparent confirmation that S3 of Torchwood will be a 5 by 1 hour mini-series. Which I can see how it might be disappointing, but some of the entitlement floating around...

And a bit of exceeding random: at the tram stop down the road this afternoon, there was, for some completely unknown mysterious reason, a great big crowd of Ticket Inspectors standing on the footpath. I'd never seen so many in the same place before.

It's was... rather unexpected.

I heard the Torchwood news last and barely batted an eyelid. I don't know if that says more about me or Torchwood, but I just can't get over how frustrating a show at it is: capable of brilliance yet difficult to love at the same time. I think it could well be partly down to Barrowman who I don't think is particularly good (he's much better as a sidekick) or the writing, or how the characters gel, but it still lacks an appeal that my favourite shows have. Season 2 was a vast improvement but it ultimately still didn't inspire me to rush out and buy the DVDs. Maybe this more focused, tighter third season will finally convert me.

I do quite like Torchwood - when it's good, it's good - but it's not quite love, really. I just don't think I am invested enough to get annoyed about.

And I agree on Barrowman as a sidekick, BTW. (Though I found him almost as good when he was with Martha in S2. Or in the first episode)

I'm just curious as to what they will do with their epic plot.
