So, when I got home from Uni today there was a completely random (and very friendly) cat hanging around the door to my building. S/he was all black and fluffy and adorable, too.

I say completely random, because I have no idea if this means someone in my building has been keeping a Sekrit Kitteh (secret on account of the whole no pets thing), or if it's from one of the other buildings nearby and came in through the gate when someone opened it. But it didn't look like any of the local cats I've seen before, and wasn't exactly going far from the door.

...Basically, I just want a cat.

It's wrong that I miss living with our cats more than I do living with my family, right?

I have had the "I miss the cat more than you, no offence" conversation with my mum in the past and she didn't find it wrong. It is largely because cats etc do not work nearly as well long-distance I think, and it is perfectly reasonable.

That, or my family are weird and/or the cat has me under scary mind control.

That might explain why I spent five minutes patiently explaining to her that her food wasn't dreadful, instead of just saying Sod you then and leaving her to eat it when she got hungry.

It worked, which is a bit odd.

Cats: Could totally take over the world if they could be bothered.

Last year in the dorms, a couple extraordinarily friendly cats belonging to townies would come hang out with us for a few hours at a time. They got a helluva lot of attention, and we got relief from our pet deprivation. I approve such arrangements.

You just have to, um, lure the cats in the first few times. They learn quickly!

I have a collection of adorable kitty icons, actually. (Just check the other comments to this post)

'Sok. Mum replaced me with a fur child when I left home, and I go back to Mornington equally to play with the kitty as I do to see Mum (she really is a pretty girly - the cat that is.)

I'd say that the cat is from a neighboring property, as there's tons of cats around. I haven't seen a fluffy kitty around though, aside from the white one-eyed fuzz ball that lived down the road that hasn't been seen for a long time.

I remember you telling me about her.

There are an impressively large amount of cats around her. Are we just in a particular catty street, or what?
