So, there was just an Earthquake in Melbourne.

What the fuck, universe. What the actual fuck.

Melbourne's not in an earthquake zone, that shit does not happen around here.

And yet, well, just take a look at melbournemaniac or Twitter.

And actual genuine earthquake. What the hell?

(Before anyone asks - it wasn't a bad earthquake, furniture shook and rattled but nothing fell here, and as far as I know no-one is hurt. I'm just weirded out, because WTF, seriously)

ETA: A US Earthquake site says it was of magnitude 4.7. The Australian site has, naturally, crashed.

Funny you should mention that...SBS news show 'Insight' just did a show on the effect of climate change on Australia. The first segment was about the fire hazards in Australia, and how they're expected to get worse by 2050. =/

I saw a link for it on one of me facebook groups. The section on cyclones featured a couple from Exmouth, that went through Vance. the episode is here.

Some childhood mates of mine went through Vance, and the 10th anniversary is coming up here in two weeks. When I lived there, we got nailed all the time and it was nothing really...then Vance hit and me mates said the attitude changed. =/
