In which animanga fandom produces much LOL WOTery

The world of animanga provided me with much WTFery today. Some of which was good WTFery, but still...

- In April, an excerpt from the 10th Haruhi Suzumiya novel will be published in a Japanese magazine.

Yes, the 10th novel actually appears to be seeing the light of day sometime soon. Wonders never cease. But where will I go to look for fan translations of it, now the last site got pulled down?

- So, apparently there is an "American Manga" written by Gene Simmons' son (!). Nothing special, right? Well, apparently large chunks of it were inspired, copied and downright traced from a number of notable manga, Bleach most obviously. Cue epic shitstorm.

ETA: Now also on Fandom Wank.

I don't even read Bleach (though I know some people on my flist do), I'm just boggling that he thought he could get away with something that blatant. I mean look at the comparisons. That's not even subtle plaigarising.

In other news, I am attempting to get myself back on a remotely normal sleeping pattern before my classes start up again. Because, well, I fortunately don't have any 9am starts. But there are always morning classes. Joy.

I've watched the first 2 episodes and they are ADORABLE. The anteater and the cat creep me out some, though. Also LOL, Suzaku being an asshole ^A^
The Prince is cute, and the MAIN LEAD won my heart straight away I thought she'd be those moe-moe types to appeal to fanboys but she's a lot clumsier and down-to-earth and adorable so I stand corrected!

I own lots of box sets. Admittedly, like half of them are from the Neighbourhood Anime Shop Of Dubious Legality. And I am pretty certain they were *cough* made in Hong Kong

I love Neko-Sensei, he's a hilarious freak. And yeah, Fakir is so Suzaku. It'll be even more so once you get to his backstory.

Mytho is pretty, but he isn't really my favourite (I still like him, he just took a while to grow on me). And Ahiru is awesome adorableness personified. And I don't think fanboy appeals was really what they were going for with Princess Tutu (though it's good enough that boys will admit to liking it) - the creator was a woman, and she had the idea while working on Sailor Moon.

I need more Princess Tutu icons, honestly...

The prince has got dem eyelashes!!!!!! (which constantly remind me of how CLAMP draws their characters) - but other than the pretty/slightly gay factor I realize I am not particularly attracted to either boy at the moment. I am, however, pretty certain both will grow on me, and especially Fakir, if I remember what I've read about the story... *totally not being biased because he sounds a bit like Suzaku*

He's pretty, but starts out so passive I was a bit meh about him at first. Once he gets a bit more personality he's more fun, though. And I looove Fakir. But yes, he's a bit of jerk to start off with.

The shop I'm thinking of has the China/HK stuff. There's another one in the CBD that has stuff from Malaysia, but I've heard rumours about some of the subs there being really bad. Which may explain how they can sell shows that aren't even on DVD in Japan yet.
