Wow, I haven't updated for an entire week. Shows how exciting my life has been lately. Anyone care to link me to anything interesting going on online/in the news/whatever?

Anyway, last night I went to [livejournal.com profile] altheas and [livejournal.com profile] lena_supercat's place for a House Cooling party. (Like a housewarming, but in reverse!) Which meant meeting up for a whole lot of people I haven't seen in quite a while. And I seem to have stuff on for the next few Saturdays, so at least I'll have things on on weekends. Plus there's a few things I need to get sorted during the week. I may be going to a Halloween party next weekend...

And for some entertainment value: LOL, Snapewank time again. The Snapefen - no, sorry, Severusmoms - are at it again. This time: claiming he's still alive, really!

And a Kirk/Spock fanvid of great lulz.

Talking to sport people in the AFL and at Victoria University. Going to see if tomorrow I can't maybe squeeze in an appointment that day to see the MCG Library. Hard to do the AFL as a dissertation topic when you're up in Canberra. Need to come down to Melbourne to do it on occassion. :)

Which AFL people? And you have only yourself to blame for the Canberraness.

AFL people as in league AFL people. The Essendon people were out of town. The Richmond Tigers guy and I just haven't managed to connect. (Ditto with the NRL Melbourne Storm. Seriously want to ask them some questions.) And the other guy I know who I think does some work for maybe the Demons... I might have done an open mouth, insert foot routine.

Canberra is love. Melbourne is ZOMG! BIG! Chadstone Mall is like a casino: Designed to show you all the shiny things you can't afford at stores and making it impossible for you to escape. (But they have a Gap. And that makes life good even if their intimates section didn't really exist. Woe!)

My (second) secondary school was in Geelong, just down the road from Kardinia Park, so I've actually met some of the Geelong players. Not that they'd know me or anything, but a couple trained the girls footy team for a while. And Matthew Scarlett's wife was in my English class.

Yeah, Chadstone is big. I don't normally go out that way (because I can just go to the CBD for shops), but I've been there a few times.

I've seen Harry O'Brien at a conference before. That's probably the closest I've come to meeting players. (Did see the someone from AFL's Player Development at the Melbourne Sport Bookshop. That was cool.) My interest is what they do in social media and most of the time, it just makes the whole knowing players and what is actually going on less relevant. :)

I was told Chadstone was the biggest mall in Australia/New Zealand so I wanted to see it. It was just overwhelming. Been in Canberra a bit too long. :)

I heard it was the biggest mall in the Southern Hemisphere, actually, though I'm not sure how much truth there is to that.
