So, this mysterious Potter More website.

Which apparently has something to do with whatever JK Rowling is working on next, and according to assorted websites, is "Breathtaking in scope" and not a new book.

Anyone got any ideas what all that is about?

Or if not ideas, rampant unconfirmed speculation? Rampant unconfirmed speculation is fun

ETA: Ooooh, nifty!. So, six days until an announcement.

I've seen people speculating it stands for Potter Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Experience...

I've heard that, and it'd fit the criteria. I've also heard a basically online version of that proposed encyclopedia (Like a book... only free!)

I sort of hope for the second, because I am not really into that sort of game.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's the encyclopedia too (though I bet there'd inevitably be some treasured piece of fanon getting jossed - the Great Blaise Zabini Fallout all over again...)

Oh man, the Blaise Zabini thing. That was hilarious. (Well, not the racist parts of it, but the fact that people got so worked up over something so trivial.)

About a year ago I thought "hmm, Ginny Weasley/Blaise Zabini, that'd be snarky and brilliant!" and went looking on fanfiction.net (my first mistake, I know) - I was startled by the number of headers announcing "I'm ignoring canon because MY Blaise is Italian". These were fics started years after Half-Blood Prince; I've no clue why they couldn't just make 'Blaise' an OC if they were that hung up on his race.

Never mind what that says about people who think Italian means he can't also be black.

But yeah, if you are ignoring canon, than he really is an OC. Just invent a new name, already!

I keep hearing a raven caw, "Pottermore! Pottermore!" in my head.

It feels like forever since the last book came out. :o

It was 2007, wasn't it? So, almost 4 years now.

...That does seem like a long time.

The raven line is making me think of Discworld now.
