Tomorrow I get to see GoF. Yayness!

And not just any GoF, but in Gold Class, with a private FAS cinema, and peoples in costume and all...it shall be fantabulous.

And because I have very little else to discuss, I bring you a flist collage:

Ain't my flist pretty?

Well, there are certainly worse ways to see the latest Harry Potter film...there was less squeeing and slashing afterwards than I expected, though.

I would have increased my squee quotient if [livejournal.com profile] fa11ing_away had been around to share my Tennant!squee.

But she wasn't, so I had to squee alone.

And I'm not really a slasher. Well, I sort of am, but I'm not the really obsessed type. I can see slash, I'm just into other things more.

Spoilerish to the completely uninitiated

I was Tennant!squeeing along with you. My house is David Tennant mad and, well, it's infectious. I had no idea he was even in the movie, so my squeeing was spontaneous.

I did have such hopes that he would shout, in the courtroom scene "What? Is the accuser always holy now? He can bite my big black Dark Mark! Err...what I _meant_ was...*flee*"

Not a slasher, eh? It must have been coincidence that the one Harry Potter fic link I tried in your link-explosion was man-on-man action. Pure coincidence! But I must admit a fondness for slash - Some uni friends and I used to have Slash Club: gathering occasionally to eat chips, make terrible jokes and read out slash in funny voices.

I'm _much_ more mature now, though.

Re: Spoilerish to the completely uninitiated

Huzzah! More Tennant fans! The world is a bright, bright place right now.

I do think I want to live in your house though. That sounds like fun.

Oh, I agree, we could have dono with a bit more courtroom shounting. Or even more courtroom visuals - damn he looked good there.

Well, I don't dislike slash, it's just I tend to prefer more gen or canon-shippy fic. But if I rec something, it's generally a mark that I quite like it, so if it's slash, it's good slash.

And Slash Club sounds like fun, actually.

Re: Spoilerish to the completely uninitiated

I tend to agree. For the longest time I thought 'slash' meant 'romance fic', without any gender bias at all.

I still think of it that way internally, 'though I don't read it any more.

Hmmm...the Tenth Doctor appears in the Council Chambers right after BCjr escapes...his exact double...hijinx ensue...

Great, there's no need to write it now. *is satisfied*

I'd have liked a full horror version of the film. Maybe I should do a script for it...nah, it's not worth it.

Harangue [livejournal.com profile] mesongles or [livejournal.com profile] darthbessie on the Slash Club front. [livejournal.com profile] mesongles had the most central locale and least desire to travel, so she was the default hostess. Living in Heidelberg my hostiness was severely limited.

I see that internet beat sleep last night. It's like the eternal rock-paper-scissors: internet-food-sleep, with internet beating both!

Re: Spoilerish to the completely uninitiated

Well, in a certain few fandoms, that is indeed what slash means still. But majority rule has sort of overtaken ost, so that use is sort of dying out now.

And dear Lord, that crossover! The mental images, the wonderful, wonderful mental images...

I see how you could try and get a full horror version, but I don't think it would be quite as Potteresque. Rowling always has a strong humour element in her books.

Well, if you look at my latest post, and see all the trouble I went to get the internet working again, I figured I might as well get some good use out of it. And I am, of course, heading off for a nap about now...

Of course! Sleep well.

And think what the Potterverse would make of the Sonic Screwdriver...
