Also, over at time_and_chips, today is the Doctor Who Research Project due date - or for those not in the know, smut liek whoa. I rather looking forward to the submissions, from the good to the bad to the very ugly. (Hey, nothing is quite so entertaining as bad porn)

There's already been a few entries, some very good, some... not so much. I shall keep an eye on the comm avidly.

The problem is, I've seen it used far too many times, even from otherwise very good authors. It just seems shoved on, you know? It's disappointing.

Yes, it is far too common, and safe. Mind you, even in published fiction, the forced happy ending is rampant.
