The song "Astral Conversations With Toulouse Lautrec" by Ash sounds very dirty. Seriously, I defy you to listen to it and tell me otherwise.

Also, over at [livejournal.com profile] time_and_chips, today is the Doctor Who Research Project due date - or for those not in the know, smut liek whoa. I rather looking forward to the submissions, from the good to the bad to the very ugly. (Hey, nothing is quite so entertaining as bad porn)

There's already been a few entries, some very good, some... not so much. I shall keep an eye on the comm avidly.

I get my hair cut tomorrow. Um, yay?

Well, there's bondage already. *grin* Mind you, there's also sex mixed with declarations of love, which does nothing for either part of my fannish psyche.

If there is anything terrible or glorious, point it out. :)

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Yes, I saw some of the kiss, fuck, "I wuv you" fics, and just inwardly facepalmed a little.

As for the good, so far is Cam's bondage fic you mentioned. And Curtain Call by [livejournal.com profile] rainyd ain't bad either. Nothing particularly horrendous yet, unless you count extreme mediocrity or complete lack of foreplay.

extreme mediocrity or complete lack of foreplay
Both of these things count in my book. And so there is already of teh bad out there. I h8 porn really.

From: [identity profile] melata-fic.livejournal.com

It is a new pet peeve of mine, I think.

Hee, icon. And the other one is likewise good in an evil way, though I didn't expect any less from the one who recently wrote sonic screwdriver kink.

Lack of foreplay is a crime. Unless we read between the lines and assume that Rose has been prepared for the moment somehow, and the Doctor can switch it on like a light bulb.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

It annoys me, too. Especially during long plotty fics, where the last chapter almost always seems to be sex and admission of love.

Also, I have found a fic which uses the phrase "a forest of delights" in reference to pubic hair. Feel free to sporfle.

And lack of foreplay in fics makes me wince, and I have no practical experience whatsoever.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

I think I've just seen so much worse over in the Harry Potter fandom that it takes something really bad to entertain me. You don't know bad porn until you've seen the "POUND! POUND! THRUST! THRUST!" one.

From: [identity profile] melata-fic.livejournal.com

Eek. I don't like finding out that a chaptered fic ends that way. It cheapens the story.

I was about to post you the same reference. *giggle* Humourfic or no, it's still worth the mention.

I also found: "[...]she felt sure she was going to burst open and spill pure energy out." (http://community.livejournal.com/time_and_chips/1977982.html#cutid1)

It probably is good porn, I don't know, but I saw that line and just imagined it like Rose's eyes from PotW.

I have enough practical experience of foreplay, it's the rest of it that I have no experience with. *shakes head* But in fic, there has to me something more than "hello", or I get a tiny bit worried about friction.

POUND! POUND! THRUST! THRUST!
YAY I'd like to see that.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

The problem is, I've seen it used far too many times, even from otherwise very good authors. It just seems shoved on, you know? It's disappointing.

Oh, that quote of yours... Now I'm imagining Rose's legs opening, and all this bright light ala heart of the TARDIS pouring out.

See, I mightn't have practical experience, but I know how it is supposed to go. And I certainly know what I'd prefer to read.

But there's one with the word ministrations in it too! Unfortunately it's not the same one, as that would have been pure win.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

It's buried in one of the [livejournal.com profile] babb_chronicles entries. I could dig up a link, but it might take a while.

From: [identity profile] ranorith.livejournal.com

I have the dentist tomorrow...that's good right?

From: [identity profile] melata-fic.livejournal.com

Yes, it is far too common, and safe. Mind you, even in published fiction, the forced happy ending is rampant.

*giggle* Exactly. And just now, I got another image... of the animation from Meaning of Life, during the Galaxy Song. Similar thing, sort of.

Exactly. And it's better to have it in the story, if just for the buildup, word count, and extra sexiness with senses.

It's like one of those emo epics that you seem to get, but compacted nto just this one short fic of concentrated bad.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

It's a bit weird - tell me what you think when you hear it.

I know nothing of Harry Potter fandom at all, I don't even know who these charactes are, that's how little I know about Harry Potter, but thank you from the depths of my spleen for sharing that with me. It has made my day.

And: Guh, hotttt:
He cummed into her mouth. And she swallowed his juices.
I love a good short sentence that just directly manages to hit the nail on the head as it were.

I had a vague inkling that HP fandom might involve 11-year-olds writing porn. Ummm, did I win on that one?

I had a vague inkling that HP fandom might involve 11-year-olds writing porn. Ummm, did I win on that one?

Quite possibly.

In any case, that's why I love [livejournal.com profile] babb_chronicles. The very best of appallingly hilarious fanfic quotes.

From: [identity profile] breo-saighit.livejournal.com

I love how in that comm, 'Research Project' is synonymous for 'Excuse for Gratuitous Porn (And Lots of It!)'.

And most of it bad.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

I have no idea how that all started, but it is certainly an interesting state of being.

And yes, most of it is bad. There is some good stuff, though.

From: [identity profile] nostalgia-lj.livejournal.com

Now I'm imagining Rose's legs opening, and all this bright light ala heart of the TARDIS pouring out.

Is that why the Doctor carries sunglasses with him at all times?

From: [identity profile] ghost2.livejournal.com

But, but, that ficcie is teh bestest in the whole wide world! One reader certainly thought so, at least. Here's a review left for it:

Wow! I know I have been saying this at smut all day but this is a completely different wow! That is the most creative and highly emotional fic I have read. awww! I felt as if I were Rose when he disappeared and my heart broke when she walked in and saw him. NO! *gives Doctor and Rose big hugs*

"I felt as if I were Rose." Well, that explains a lot.

You all are encouraging me to be, I don't want to call it "mean," but "honest" doesn't seem quite harsh enough. Thanks. :)

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Ah, self-insertion into fanfic. The reason even Suethors have fans. *shudders*

Perhaps "snarky" is the word you're looking for.

From: [identity profile] breo-saighit.livejournal.com

A seemingly...not so innocent poll has somehow spawned into much pr0n. Which is fair enough, when you're asking people which Doctor would be more likely to grind Rose into the wall of the TARDIS (I said the Ninth Doctor :D Not that I was projecting or anything..)

Is there anywhere one can find all the responses to the RP? It'd be good if all the stories were gathered in the one area, but I can't seem to find anything like that :(

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

All the fics can be found linked in the voting. Sorted by category and all. And if the voting is accurate, quality.

From: [identity profile] melata-fic.livejournal.com

I just think the writer probably needs a little time and experience, to be less cruel about it. :)

Hmm. Critical? That's probably a good word.

From: [identity profile] breo-saighit.livejournal.com

Hehe, thanks for that. I'm going to have to check some of those out :D
