So, my computer has gone and died on me. Again.

Yeah, well that bites.

I am not impressed. *starts thinking about getting a new computer*

How old is your computer? Mine is around seven now, and I dread the day it dies on me. Because I simply can't afford a replacement.

It's two and half years old, but it is a laptop. And I since my parents know how much I need it for Uni, if it really did die on me, I could probably talk them into getting me a new one.

Any idea what's the cause? Maybe it'll be something as cheap as a new fan to stop it overheating. of course, Sod's Law will probably dictate otherise?

It's something to do with the power - the battery doesn't charge properly sometimes, and it tends to start running of battery when I still have it plugged in at the wall for no apparent reason.

If I need a new battery, it's expensive but easy to replace. If the charging circuit needs to be replaced, then it's a lot more problematic.

Well, it won't help charge the battery. Or, why it tends to randomly switch over to battery power even when still plugged in.
