And the Press for The Runaway Bride has begun.... Yes, it's just a couple of moments in the Beebs Christmas promotions. But still, they look mightily cool. (I have to say, I very much like Euros Lyn as a director. But if the rest of the ep looks as good as these clips, kudos to the design people)
Note to self: Get some new icons.
I'm starting to feel the hype, and it's quite wonderful. For all people can bitch and moan about certain aspects of Doctor Who (and I'm including myself in "people"), I adore the way it makes me feel like a kid again.
It's just... It's December now, and Christmas is coming. Like, really, instead of just the weird way early Christmas stuff that shops seem to go in for.
Is anyone else feeling ecstatically happy for no apparent reason? Or is it just me?
In any case, it's a rather wonderful feeling. I'm bouncing off the walls. (rather more literally than one might expect...)

That said, the overdone green worked well when Tennant was dancing around the console during Rose's monologue in Army of Ghosts. It looked... otherworldly.

Agree on the green in that instance -- it fit in nicely with the opening to New Earth too, come to think of it. Didn't like it in School Reunion, though; that just looked weird.

I haven't seen Unquiet Dead in an age, because it's not exactly one of my fave episodes, but I definitely agree on the other too. Awesome lighting. I think I recall style!squee after I initially saw Tooth and Claw.
School Reunion was a little too dark, I think. It wasn't the colour, it was the dimness of it.

"Ernie Vinze(sic?) lit the first series but on series two he shared the lighting job with Rory Taylor (who lit all the Euros Lyn directed episodes and Love and Monsters, plus the children in need special). Taylor has done the lighting for The Christmas Special I would imagine. Vinze tends to light the TARDIS with green and orange but Taylor tends to go for a much brighter almost golden look."

Gatiss's offerings were dull. But very well-lit.
