He's never going to leave now that he's got the Beeb dancing to his own schedule, is he? I'm slightly bemused by that, but since I already felt sad about him leaving after S4, I think I'm mostly happy.
Yeah, I was all prepared to get used to the next Doctor, was getting prepped to like him and all, and then... not happening. I don't really know how to react.
And he has got them on a bit of string, hasn't he?
I can certainly understand them wanting to keep him on, but to postpone the show for a year? That's really something else. I'm thinking that the rest of the department, RTD included, leapt at the chance of a break after four years of working pretty much non-stop.
Could very well be - I haven't kept up with the Hi-Def thing. It just seems more like circumstances coming together than David throwing a diva-fit (which, yeah, not something I see happening at all).
Agreed - David seems the most un-divalike person ever. (Now I could see him saying he'd like to do more Who, but he wants to take on other commitments, and then being shocked when they announce they will cut back production so he can stick around longer...)
In my head, that's exactly how it happened. I imagine there was lots of blushing and flustering and protestations on his part - it's a really cute scenario (at least in my imagination).
Me too, would have put money on it if I had any. This is excellent news. I am busy laughing at the peeps on OG saying 'Why isn't he confirmed for Series 5?'
