Does anyone else think it would be neat if in say 10-15 years or so, Maria from the Sarah Jane Adventures were to become a companion?

Because, well, it'd mean a companion who is completely competent at alien fighting and world-saving to start with. Which could be interesting.

Also, instant character backstory (or prequels, for that matter).

Who said we needed to wait that long? We have a show about time travel.. wouldn't it be cool, say another actresses playing Maria some time in her future??

True, but I think the current actress is pretty decent.

Also, I am amusing myself with thoughts of so kid becoming a Maria fangirl, and wanting to find out more about her - and then discovering, to her amazement, there she used have a show as a kid.
