Lovely new President and a lovely new Vice President who does not make me wonder, every time I see him, whether or not he has a shrine to Adolf Hitler hidden in his house.

Oh, you know people thought that when they looked at Cheyney. Scary, scary dude. How nice to have a President and Vice President who don't scare the shit out of me. This is very true. Jon Stewart has been mourning the loss of Bush-as-comedy-fodder since November. Every time Bush did another classic WTF thing Stewart would look at the camera and say with real feeling "I'm going to miss him."

President Obama can be funny but he's not irretrievably stupid and that's where comedy gold is mined.

I'm feeling sorry for Jon Stewart but I feel sorrier for Stephen Colbert, who made a career of being a Bush acolyte. Colbert took one little swipe at President Obama on his show and got booed. It's going to be a big change for him even if he is in reality a major Obama supporter.

I think they have high hopes for Dr. Jill Biden. Now I feel sorry for her.
