It has come to my attention (via
altheas's rather disturbing co-worker, and some truly appalling Sue-fics) that as of late, the name "Melissa" has been used in a lot of disturbing and unnatural ways. As a barer of this name, I am shocked and appalled.
So, in order to escape these horrific connotations, I have decided that I shall now renounce the name Melissa, and take on an entirely new name.
Sadly, I have no suitable back-up.
So, I put this out to you, my noble flist: Find me a new name.
I am open to all suggestions, though I would quite like it if you can supply a good reason why said suggestions are suitable for me to take as my new name.
The winner will be rewarded with...something. I am sure it will be glorious and magnificent.
So, go, my flist, and find me a name!

A real name needs an amusing history behind hit so it has some narrative. If you're picking a new name you want a story to tell with it.

Care to supply me with an amusing narrative as well?

*beats head against wall for just under a minute*
You will acquire a nickname for something you do, not because I feel like writing a story about a person I don't know that well.
Nicknames are both endearing and amusing creatures with a twisted sense of logic. I'd have to have been around you long enough to have seen you do a number of strange things which I can then link together with twisted logic and encapsulate in a single word. That would work. This bollocks about be justifying a name you want doesn't even remotely cut it.

'Cos everyone else here seems to have gotten it.
