So, tonight [livejournal.com profile] fa11ing_away and I headed down to Crown Cinema, and went and saw V For Vendetta.

And... wow. Just plain wow. This movie was just made of wow. I love love loved it.

The Bloody Wachowskis done good.

We also took a look around the shops there (I bought some chocolate covered coffee beans, to make up for my chocolateless Easter, as well as some other stuff.)

Oh, and today was officially declared Random Saturday. Penguin!

ETA: Tooth and Claw soon. Hurrah!

oh, and i downloaded the original comic

Dude, I am also in need of this. Does Rowden have it at all?

From: [identity profile] fa11ing-away.livejournal.com

not too sure. They probably do, but given that the movie is out, it's due to be quite popular at the moment and hard to get hold of.

If you want, I can stick it the scans that I got tonight on a CD for you...

the comic is really quite brilliant. There are parts that the film was take straight out of, but there's also different parts of the tale which weren't told in the movie rendition (as is bound to happen) that illustrated the scenary so perfectly that it's a shame they were omitted.
Evie is much, much different (from what I've seen), but the spirit of the story remains true.
I'm only 80% through though, so I'd better get back to it. It's addictive reading ^^,

OMG, Snakes on the TARDIS! I get it now!

Randomness? Well...I'm the captain of the gravy train! (OK, OK, so Homsar said it before me...but it's still pretty damn random. Kashoo!)

I take it you're not acquainted with the sheer joy that is the Homestar Runner Web cartoon. I highly recommend it. Great '80s humor, snarky characters, hidden Easter egg...oh, it's the best!

Yes. And Hugo Weaving is brilliant, because how hard is it to find things serious with that mask grinning at you?

The comic is rather good as well. :D

I was very impressed by him, he was very, very good. And Portman redeemed herself after Star Wars.

The comic is one of those things I shall check out when I have time.

He was brilliant. I found myself crushing on his voices and gestures and body language.

Natalie Portman's also really quite good in Garden State. She's a good actress, it's just that Star Wars did not give her a way to show it. :D
