That said, responses this bad really don't really further the cause.

Someone kill it, kill it dead.

I thought the idea of "favorite" over there was to be able to pick out the good authors from the pool. Y'know, the ones who have heard of plot, characterization, and spellcheck.

Sadly, "favorite" lists tend to be kind of cliquey among the authors, assuming that they even list favorites. And while I list the stuff that I like, that brings me back to the whole wading and sifting thing.
