Firstly: The Who wank has hit fandom_wank.

And secondly, inspired by [livejournal.com profile] midnitemaraud_r's comment, I present the following poll to the masses:

[Poll #790396]

From: [identity profile] kittenblah.livejournal.com

OMGnoes, Ten totally cheated on TICKYBOX with the door! Door is so the biggest whore. I mean, like, everyone touches his knob!

Shipping people with inanimate objects is so my new hobby.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Door is so the biggest whore. I mean, like, everyone touches his knob!

*falls over laughing*

Well, that's just completely win.

What are some other inanimate objects we can ship. Aside from the obvious Doctor/TARDIS OTP, of course.

From: [identity profile] kittenblah.livejournal.com

Doctor/TARDIS is way too widely accepted. There's a bit of sentience there (as I remember? yus, no?), so that's just not inanimate enough.

Doctor/Spoon?
Doctor/Handcuffs? (ooh, pervy)

I'm gonna go with TICKYBOX/Doctor/Door. RTD is so putting that in next season. Straight after the episode where the Doctor is revealed as one of the original Village People.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Well, there's the "TARDIS is grown" and the telepathic stuff, so it is semi-sentient, at least.

Doctor/Jar of Marmalade? Hot liek whoa, yo.

But I support the Doctor/Handcuffs ship, too. (Can we have that next series, Rusty?)

And TICKYBOX/Doctor/Door is OT3, yo. But which one of the village people?

From: [identity profile] kittenblah.livejournal.com

I'd hit that Marmalade. Totally.

Campaign for recognition of Doctor/Handcuffs as a completely valid ship plzkthx. The world really does need a picture of David Tennant in handcuffs, cause although any Doctor is valid, Ten is hot in a way that doesnt make me think of Willy Wonka (yet)

I so need a TICKYBOX/Doctor/Door colourbar. Everyone knows they'd want one. and the Doctor was totally the police officer. It was during his Twelfth regen. Handcuffs ahoy!

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

That marmalade is tasty, yo.

We need a shipname for Doctor/Handcuffs. Any suggestions? But yes, photos with Teh Tennant would be muchly appreciated.

Hey, I'd want one. *plans to add TICKYBOX/Doctor/Door to interests*

From: [identity profile] kittenblah.livejournal.com

AlienBondage? the Doctor is so down with that. theirloveissometal. or something.

I cannae find any Tennant/handcuff pics, which means the world is very sorely lacking. The Doctor so needs to get pulled over for speeding on his dinky little Vespa, or to the like.

And totally *adds interest*. We can start a revolution yet! If my PSP werent so on my other PC, I'd be at that colourbar. We'll just have to imagine it for now.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

He's a kinky bastard, that Doctor. And we love him for it.

Woe. 'Tis a sad, sad world we live in, if it doesn't contain Tennant/hancuff pics. *has some very, very interesting mental images right now*

Hurrah! It shall be the Next Big Fandom Thing, I'll see if it's not! *joins in imagining colourbar*

From: [identity profile] kittenblah.livejournal.com

Producers just dont get what audiences want these days. C'mon RTD, it's not that hard. All we want is Tennant, in handcuffs, in a quarry, possibly naked.

With the Door and TICKYBOX.
Now that would make one fucked up kick ass episode.

And Next Big Fandom Thing? Totally. Only the cool kids ship the tickybox.

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Yeah. WE WANT FANSERVICE, DAMMIT!

And that would be the best episode ever. It could be one of those experimental, arty ones.

In a few years time, when everyone is shipping the tickybox, we can look back upon this day and laugh. For Lo! And we were trendsetters!

From: [identity profile] kittenblah.livejournal.com

We're like Madonna, in a way. We so set trends.

And I totally took the TARDIS to the future to see the making of the episode, and took a picture.
His handcuffs are pastede on yay!

But more quarry action is seriously needed in the NewWho. I need my quarry-fix! *pout*

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Hopefully we won't be in all those really crappy movies

ZOMG! That pictures is so win! It shall be our shippy shrine, and we shall worship it!

Quarries are good. At least some of The Christmas Invasion, and The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit were filmed in them.

From: [identity profile] kittenblah.livejournal.com

*woships frantically with a wooden spoon*

Official Cult of the TICKYBOXshippers, totally. theirloveissoinaquarry.

Oooh, I'd forgotten about the IP/SP hot quarry action! I love it when all other worlds look like Welsh quarries.

Whilst, over in sane!world, I still havent fully seen s2 of NewWho. This is tragic on many levels cause Tennant has been a longstanding obsession, and I do so like to oogle Ten's massive hubris. So, I havent watched IP, Idiots Lantern, or that one with Peter Kaye in. I hear the one with Kaye isnt really worth watching?

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

Every TICKYBOX shipper must bring their own wooden spoon so they can worship Teh Ship in the proper manner. *nods firmly*

Welsh Quarries FTW!

The Kaye ep - Love & Monsters - doesn't have very much Tennant at all, so if you're just watching for him, it isn't that spectacular. It was a hugely divisive episode fandom-wise, I can say that much. Personally, I love minor characters and external POVs on the Doctor's adventures, so I loved most of it (Until Kaye went from his human disguise to the bloody awful monster). But... yeah. I'd watch it, but I can be a bit of a completist about these things. And I think it's always better to make your mind up from your own experience, rather than from what others have told you.

From: [identity profile] kittenblah.livejournal.com

Wooden spoons and Welsh quarries... sounds like another ship! But noes, I am true to the TICKYBOX. My spoon is for the BOX only. and hitting batshit insane shippers

I miss Rusty the Dalek. He so would have plungered everyone into shape.

My issue with Love & Monsters was the alleged lack of plot. But that was alleged, and if I recall, mostly by rabid tennantshippers. Whereas I watch Who just for the quarries. Well, not just, but yeah. I'm not clear on the plot really, other than Kaye was the BP winner monster.
Initially the Kaye thing put me off, I do like him as a comedian but he's a bit much sometimes. I'm also having the same squidge about Catherine Tate at the moment, but I've got faith, it'll be good. (Either that or I just wont re-watch it, but the Doctor so deserves some snark thrown back in his face at the moment)

I think I'm just going to have to have a big ol' 'magical find' of episodes from teh intarwebz this weekend. My trusty wooden spoon shall aid me!

From: [identity profile] drakyndra.livejournal.com

The spoon is solely a tool to enable shipping. Like a spork, it is valuable in it's own right, but is more so to enable better things.

Everything is better with Daleks, yo.

I know nothing about either Peter Kaye or Catherine Tate. Which is possibly a good thing, considering certain people in fandom's reaction to them.

Ah yes, I know all about the "magical find" *is an Australian who couldn't wait for the series to show here*

From: [identity profile] kittenblah.livejournal.com

Kaye and Tate are a bit ...loud, for lack of a better work. Although abrasive might work too. I did however like the Doctor's 'WTF?' face at seeing Tate. I just keep imagining him spending most of the episode going 'ya Whaaaat?' with that kinda gobsmacked face.

I wish I had a better reason for needing the "magical find", I just suck at remembering what day it is. That and my housemates dont appreciate thewonder of quarries. Or spoons. Or Daleks. They also just dont get teh TICKYBOX. ingrates.
