I wonder, just how much of the crazy in the Doctor Who fandom would be avoided if people would actually come to terms with the fact that Rose isn't the exception, she's just the first example of the new rule?
Is it wrong that I am almost as interested in how fandom reacts to the next series as the series itself?
(Well, that's an exaggeration, considering how fascinated I am with how the show deals with a new companion. Still, I have far to much interest in it...)
I'm more interested in the treatment and reaction of the series than I am in watching it, at this stage. :) Come next year, I'll probably say different.
The idea was weird to me at first, when I read about the new companion (before I finished series 2) I was all "Wah, Rose is leaving??"
But now I'm kind of looking forward to it. I like the idea of someone new with new family and new issues etc, to inject new drama etc into the show. Looking forward to meeting Martha. :D

But Rose is just as important as Martha. :) Anything more or less would be strange.

Bah, how can the new female lead and the old female lead be equally important!
