Was lurking around a few threads on the OG, when I stumbled upon a recent - and rather unexpected post from Teh Moff.
(From here)
In response to a previous commenter's "Writer Steven Moffat has all but admitted that The Doctor & Rose were sexually active as of the 'Doctor Dances' episode"
Teh Moff:
"I say, no I didn't! The whole scene was about the fact they WEREN'T at it - indeed, it was the Doctor being slightly hurt that Rose hadn't even considered him in that light.
There's precious little evidence they ever got up to anything, I'd have said - that it doesn't stop it being a love story, of course (it clearly was) but unrequited surely?
Oh, it's all sex with you lot, isn't it? And when the writer of Coupling says you're banging on about sex too much, it's time to start listening.
Steven Moffat"
Did mine eyes just decieve me, or was the word "unrequited" just used to describe the Doctor/Rose relationship by someone in the know?

I'm sure I've mentioned here before that I've had my doubts about Moffat as a member of any OTP Club on that one, which would make the sense since a truly non-aseuxal stance does require assuming the Doctor's loved and "danced" before and will again. Basically, from what I've seen of Moffat's views on the subject, One True And Only Love is incompatible with his own ideas.
And yeah, he's the one who seemingly had no qualms about pairing the Doctor up with a "perfect match" who isn't Rose and writing it as though Rose were not even an issue.
Though I do read that and wonder if he meant "unconsummated." Or something.

I had much the same thought. Even someone that good with Teh Wordz can biff it now and again.
After all, many of us post the way we talk, and isn't Steve supposed to be all autobiographical, specifically in his great talent for saying exactly the wrong thing at the worst possible time? ;-)

Which I'd say is true, actually. I think the whole reason I ship them is because they're so obviously incompatible. But yeah, I can't imagine any of the writers actually arguing from that position.

*stares*
But yeah. They wouldn't let them write it if they were going to say stuff like that in public. Ten years from now we'll get all the gossip about who shipped more than who and who had who else in the catering van.

And I want to know who had who else in the catering van!
Why oh why doesn't this fandom have more RPF?From:

That's exactly what I thought when I read. Love doesn't necessarily lead to sex. Especially when one of the partners is a 900 year old alien...
