And the computer is back again. And working - at least for now, anyway.

As far as the tech could tell, there's either something wrong with the battery, or with the charging circuits. The battery is replacable, and easy to fix (if not cheap), but the circuits would involve taking the whole thing apart.

Thus, since it's working again now, I'm backing stuff up, and hoping that it can last until after exams, when letting people take it to pieces is livable.

There's possibly something wrong with the fact that I don't even need to give the repair guy my address anymore - my name is enough. And he gave me a discount this time, too.

In other news, in the time my computer was away, I read 3 and half books. Because that's what I do when I don't have a computer - I read.

Said books:
- Warlords of Utopia, by Lance Parkin (It's a Faction Paradox book, for those who know of such things.
- Thud! by Terry Pratchett (re-read)
- Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett (re-read)
- The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, by Oliver Sacks (partially read)

In other news, Another rec up at [livejournal.com profile] crack_van. For those who are wondering, it's one of my Old School recs - a Susan fic. I got this icon especially for it.

Also, some S3 Doctor Who news. Spoilery, of what people are wearing is considered a spoiler. No photos yet, mind.

From the people who have been watching filming: Yes, in S3, we will be seeing a return of Tux!Ten. Hurrah! Also, it appears that Freema also gets the formal gear this time, with Martha in an evening dress. Ah, shiny outfits, how I love you.

On the subject of TV news, I heard the thing about Life on Mars finishing after S2. Somehow, I sort of saw that coming. I'm looking forward to the new series, but I think it's not a concept that should be extended too long, so if we end up with a good conclusion, I'll be happy with two series'.

Let's just say that the Tiffany's opinion of Roland becomes quite clear at certain points. And Roland manages to be quite good on his own, also. Definite potential there...

I don't wait - as soon as they show up in the city, I nab them. Which is expensive, but they have a lot of re-read value for me, so it's worth it.

I am *not* a patient woman. But I've got a friend who really appreciates knowing what she can get me for my birthday and that I'm going to love it every time. It's not her fault that Pratchett publishes about a month before the fact!

It's why my sister and I always ask for one CD or DVD - so we know what to get one another.
