So, I have worked out what it is that gave me that blood blister on my foot yesterday. There's a broken zip on the cushion next to my bed. How did I work this out, you ask.

Well, I stepped on it. Again.

I hope I didn't get blood on the carpet.

Teh Links List is almost done - I'll have it up later tonight. It's rather shorter than the last (being out of the inital post-Doomsday boom), and appears to contain a worryingly high proportion of Martha fics. The advantage of an as yet impossible to be OOC character, I suppose.

Oh, and there are two more sections of the bad_penny thing up.

Also, on a vaguely meta note: "if [x] was here now they wouldn't love this version, how could they love this version?" is quite possibly the stupidest bit of Doctor vs Doctor character criticism I have ever come across.

Cut for ranting )
TUTORS SHOULD NOT TELL YOU THAT TESTS ARE IN TWO WEEKS TIME WHEN THEY ARE ACTUALLY THIS WEEK! Bastard.

Yeah, I had an astronomy test today, which, you know, I hadn't studied for, because I was told it wasn't for another two weeks. Grrr. I thought I just had a prac!

Which we did have, after said test - two hours doing really easy stuff on pulsars, which was pretty much just shoving numbers into equations and solving.

BUT I WANT SOME WARNING BEFORE TESTS, DAMMIT!

In other news, the weather was bizarrely hot for winter today. Really. I mean, I'm not complaining, because it means I don't need to cover up my nice clothes with a coat or anything, but it's still terribly, terribly strange.

And now I am going to get a good night's sleep tonight, because I've ended up dead on my feet again. *sigh*

ETA: I can't believe I forgot to mention this. You know that Psych talk that was stressing me? Well, that was yesterday. And since only four people turned up to the tute, it was rather less of a fuss than I had expected - we just gave our talks from our seats to the other - very few - people.

I got 28 out of 40 for mine.

- In my script-writing class the other day, several of us gave a Greek Choral reading of the textbook's copyright disclaimer. Which was... unique.

- An amusing quote from my HPS tute: "Until palmistry invents me a plasma TV, I'm not going to believe it."

But HPS is currently love. Mind-bending love, but love.

- Also, ARGHPSYCH! *falls over crying*

In three weeks time, I am due to give a presentation to my lab class on an article relating to out lab assignment. A presentation no longer than 20 minutes.

How bloody long is it supposed to go for? And how the shit am I supposed to talk for that long? I mean, I'm good at talking, I just don't say very much.

*sighs* If anyone actually cares, the presentation is on "A temperamental approach to humor" by Ruch and Kohler, from The sense of humour: Explorations of a personality characteristic.

Bastards never told me about this on the subject info.

It's quarter to four in the morning. And the goddamn smoke alarm above the staircase in our building is going off. And as far as I can tell, I'm the only person awake

And the fucking roof is too high for me to turn it off.

I hate smoke alarms.

Earlier this week, I kept reading a whole lot of things that confused me greatly. Now I seem to keep coming across stuff that makes me want to slap someone.

This goes out to the people I know in RL, but I am rather disappointed with you lot. Why? Because of your complete and utter lack of response, online or in the real world, I, yet again, had no real celebration for my birthday.

It was so nice of you to pay no attention to it at all, really.

The exception to this, of course, is [livejournal.com profile] fa11ing_away, who was nice and lovely, and so we went out and had dinner at Pancake Parlour (mmm, pancakes), and then wandered up to Eurotrash to have Absinth. And Pocky.

They were both very good.

And we also went on a Croft Institute adventure, actually managing to find the damn place, which was fun. It also has the best decor of a bar ever. Oh, and the bartender was a guy who I went to school with, and when he found out it was for my birthday, gave us drinks for half price.

(Also, he initially didn't recognise me, because of the blonde hair, which was just weird. Seriously, it doesn't look that different, does it?)

Then we wandered up to Cab Noc again, which was rather busy. I love the outfits there, they are so cool. And the music isn't bad either. And the entire night was worth it just to see the Goths all flee when the DJ put Franz Ferdinand on.

*pouts* I'm going to go and eat my birthday Pocky now. It's yummy.

In other flist-ish type stuff, a whole bunch of randoms I have never spoken to, or even heard of before have friended me. WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?
